We bought this washer for our brand new house, and left my beloved 15 year old Kenmore in our condo. How I miss that thing!! We've now had this new washer for 8 months, so I feel that I've given myself enough time to learn the tricks of how to work with it. I can't. Every.Single.Dark load needs to be put through the rinse/spin cycle again. There is white residue all over the clothes, even when I wash them inside out. Each load takes so long to go through, even on the express setting. I hate that I can't throw a forgotten towel in after it's started without "unlocking" the lid, which sometimes takes a full minute. If I could be the one determining the water level, I would be happier. I think that there is not enough water used in the cycles and it leaves soap scum because of that. But I can't change that, the machine has it's own mind. I've tried using just a teaspoon of liquid detergent and it still leaves soap scum. Another thing I dislike is that it leaves clothes very, very wrinkled. They are tangled together, too. If I want to wash something that won't go in the dryer, it definitely, positively will need to be ironed. Not just a touch up either, a long, hot ironing session. Regretting my choice now :(
Our old Kenmore (more than 20 years old) finally died and we had to find a replacement. We were happy with Kenmore in the past and so started there. We also wanted the High Energy machine but wanted to stay away from the front load machine. The sale price was good, the machine was available and close enough for me to pick up at the store. Set up was a snap but a few reminders to make sure your supply hoses are secure...that last 2/3rd turn on the hoses is critical unless you like a puddle of water under your new machine. You should also assure that your which is your hot and cold tap (mine were set up opposite of standard with hot on the right and cold on the left...go figure). We've had our washing machine now for four days and have done several loads. It's proving to be a trooper. If it will last us 20 years we'll be thrilled to replace it with another Kenmore then.
About two months ago, I replaced the LG front load HE washing machine that came with my house. The LG was a high-end model with tons of features that I never used. I really disliked the front loader for many reasons, but mainly because I had to clean the door gasket after every load or risk my clothes smelling from mildew. I waited to write this review to see if the new machine started to smell of mildew, but it hasn't. I love my new Kenmore HE! Yes, it is freakishly loud, but that is the only drawback and is the reason I reduced my top rating by one star. Following the directions (pour in HE soap first, then load clothes around the impeller), my clothes come out much cleaner than with any other washing machine I've used. The clothes also finish relatively dry and, yes, somewhat wrinkled, but no more so than with other HE machines I have used. The cycle times are about the same as my old LG. If noise is not a problem for you (it wasn't for me--I read these reviews before I made my purchase and knew that this washer was considered loud) then I highly recommend the Kenmore 25102.
I purchased this after having a kenmore for over 11 yrs that stopped spinning out the excess water and my dryer quit working. I was skeptical because of the negative reviews but decided to purchase this HE top loader instead of a front loader and the issues friends have been having with their front loaders. Most even said they would go back to a top loader. I am impressed with how clean the clothes are coming out and not as wet which takes less drying time. Read and follow the directions and your clothes will come out clean. I have 3 boys, one of which has a disability and Im doing 2 to 3 loads a day. I did have to go out and purchase the ball for my fabric softener but it was just over $2 so no big deal. The noises and clicks at first were weird but got used to them. I dont notice the noise on the spin cycle as its in the garage.

I've only used it for 3 loads so far but this is a fantastic washing machine - particularly compared to my much higher-priced Whirlpool which completely bit the dust after 7 years. I hope I continue to be happy with this unit and that I can buy more Kenmore products.

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I am glad I didn't let them change my mind about this washer. It is wonderful! I didn't know what to expect from an HE washer, but liked the lack of an agitator and the idea of saving water. We have had the machine and matching dryer about six weeks now and have no complaints. Clothes come out much cleaner than with our old washer and seem to smell fresh longer. Yes, clothes wrinkle during the spin cycle but that is because this machine spins like crazy, which saves dry time. The dryer takes any wrinkles out anyhow. Washer does take a bit longer than our old one, but I feel it is because it really cleans well and also because the spin cycle is longer. With the shortened dry time, you make up for it. None of the residue problems others speak of. We use Tide liquid he detergent and Downey drop ball in every load. This washer isn't loud like others say either. Just sounds different. If you're on the fence, go for it. You won't be disappointed if you follow the directions, use the right detergent, etc.
Machine washes clothes fine, but it makes a lot of noise while it is "sensing" the size of your load. Also, the cycle takes much longer to complete than my previous washer - not sure how that equals energy efficiency. On the plus side, it does have a large capacity
This washer has ruined all my clothes. The old Maytag I had washed them beautifully. This washer has stretched out all my tops across the shoulders so that the shoulder seams are halfway down my arms. None of my clothes fit me and I look like a hobo even though they came from expensive stores. I saw some review here that said if you put the clothes in the dryer they'll be fine. Well I don't put most of my clothes in the dryer. I hang them up or lay them out to dry, I never had to iron before--now everything needs to be ironed. I hate this washer. I don't even think I can sell it because who would want it?

I bought this washer being a little scared of a new system I had never used. the washer works great. u can use about half the detergent that u usually use and clothes come out smelling better than ever.. also the washer spins clothes really dry so ur dryer also uses less energy. I would recommend this purchase. the washer makes different noises than a typical washer but u get use to the difference. the amount of clothes u can wash efficiently is awesome. the amount of money I will save on electric, water, and detergent should pay for the purchase in about 3 years
