  • Stainboost™ extends wash time for a deeper soak, better cleaning penetration and more powerful stain removal while remaining gentle on fabrics.
  • A small footprint makes this washer an easy fit for apartments, basements and starter homes, while powerful performance delivers the same clean you’d expect from larger machines.
  • Rapid spin speeds squeeze excess water from clothes, linens and more for faster, easier transfer to your dryer and shorter dry times.
  • Designed to help remove detergent build-up, cut down on odors and rinse away any left-over grime, the Clean Washer cycle provides essential maintenance for optimum performance.

High efficiency, indeed...
Very nice washer! Our household is used to an old-school agitator washing machine, so we had to make some adjustments with our washing routine. The washer has a variety of settings depending on your wash and its very simple to use. My own complaint (a minor one) is that the wash itself takes a while. Our old washer took about a half hour for a full load, This washer takes an hour. But, my clothes came out clean and fairly dry, so it'd take about an hour or two in the sunshine to dry it out. That complaint isn't enough to knock a star off my rating. I really like the audio cue that plays when your wash is done. It's loud enough to hear a room or two over. Less water and less power consumption, a longer wash, but fantastic results. the trade-off is worth it. Very pleased with this purchase over all. Great choice if you're looking for a new washer, but don't want to break the bank.

Be prepared
for irritating noise from this machine. As the water dispenses, the sound, like an old car that won't start, prrtt, prrtt, prrtt, is grating on the ears. The salesman said I could wash a blanket, but he didn't say that when the blanket gets off balance, the machine rocks and shakes worse than an earthquake. Did the same thing with 2 normal bed sheets and 2 pillow cases. The 2 stars are for cleaning power.

Love it!

So much easier without the big agitator in the middle!!! And love that it senses to know the water level. I will mention that you can hear it doing this as I saw some mention the sound. But I do not even notice it any more. Clothes are always clean and the spin does a great job of getting out excess water. Have really enjoyed having this machine!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

If you don't like noise, run away! Otherwise, love it.

Pros: I decided to test my shiny new washer with three of my daughter's treasured possessions: her pink blanket (which the old washer's agitator all but destroyed), her stuffed polar bear (who is also a victim of Agitatoritis), and a pair of her favorite, but daycare-stained, shoes. I also followed up with a load of sheets, almost immediately. All of them came out clean (no issues with lint, as others reported) or lingering soap. As far as I can tell, all the stains came out of the polar bear -- which was looking downright grey even after two washes in the old washer -- and he is his normal, white blending-in-arctic tundra self. Thank goodness! I also managed to knock out some long-lasting stains from my "freshly dyed hair" pillowcases. Bye bye, pink and purple stains! Maybe our old washer sucked, but this is a definite improvement from my old Maytag (which was brand new in 2007). I loved that machine, but I didn't realize how dingy my whites were coming out until I could compare it to my new machine! If anything changes, as far as my review is concerned, I'll follow-up with another review in a month or two! Cons: 1) It is loud. Maybe I am spoiled from the rhythmic thunk-thunk-thunk of my older, traditional washer's spin cycle, but this one took some getting used to. It is loud -- not so much as to disturb me but, so far, I am constantly aware of it in the background, kind of like a dishwasher can be obnoxiously loud. Maybe that'll improve as I grow accustomed to it, though. 2) The curved top. Man, that is bad design. It looks pretty, sure, but I live in a postage stamp and need all the space I can get. The top of my dryer always held stuff for laundry, like hangers for things I'd hang dry, but everything just wiggles off the top of it during the wash/dry process. The noise and the curved top are enough to make me knock a star off because, in a small apartment, they can be dealbreakers! If I didn't want to take a step back into a machine with an agitator, I'd probably return them for this reason.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Hate It!

The first couple of times we used this washer it worked fine. I was not happy to see that a normal wash takes 1 hour. There is no such thing as a small load.....everything takes an hour. The racket sound that comes from the machine can be heard on the second floor of my house and the laundry room is in my basement. No agitator does not mean more room. A queen size comforter will not fit like the salesman assured me it would. This machine is not worth the money. I would not recommend this at all. Very disappointed!

Good washer-Loud Operation

Just bought this washer in Januar 2014,and so far I do like the way the washer cleans. It uses minimal amounts of water, yet seems to clean just fine. I use the He soap and find I need less of that too. As others have stated, it is pretty loud during it's operation- Much louder than my older model. But it doesn't tear my clothes as stated in other reviews. You must follow directions as far as loading, but otherwise this washer works well. I put up with the noise because it does a good job.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Agitator Needed

Do not purchase this machine if you have very dirty items to wash. It's a great machine but it needs the agitator. All my whites come back half dirty and that's no good. I'm going to return it.

Ease of use and yes it sounds very different

This is my first time using a washer with no agitator and this makes loading it a breeze. Yes, it makes some interesting noises and that does take some getting used to. However, the wash comes out very clean. It has many different types of cycles - hot, warm, cool, and tap temperature, three different spin speeds - and it uses only the water it needs to do the load. I do not know what is up with the people that have had issues with lint and such as I have not seen this. Great product and I recommend it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Keep looking

Very disappointed in this washer. I had a Kenmore W&D for 20 years- yes TWENTY years- that worked perfectly. I was being pro-active and bought new- bad mistake. I wish I had my old W&D back. This washer takes 45 minutes for delicate cycle when my old washer took 15 min. (and they call this energy efficient?) As I write this- I have a service man out for a second time trying to figure out why it wont drain, spin. The lid lock is frustrating. The cycles take entirely too long and as far as design- the top is slanted so you cant place anything on top of it or it will slide off.

Don't do it

Absolutely the worst machine ever. Goes out of balance if one sock is added. Very very noisy and sloooowww. Shredded one sheet already. When it spins, it twists any sock, strings into a nightmare with anything else. Jeans even when only washing with other jeans takes a couple of extra spins to ready them for the dryer. Tried to talk with "support".. "Sorry customer, that is the way the machine works." They told me to re-balance the load, yes I do that, every time I try to do laundry!! Several times a load. !! You won't believe how loud it is. Sears will not take it back and only a few weeks old. High efficiency, I believe in saving water and power, amen!! but the machine could be designed at half the water and do great. Kenmore and Sears really don't care about the reviews, I hope someone reads this.

Terrible machine

I returned this washer and bought a front load washer. I had a jacket and coat that I had washed and they came out full of fine lint. In addition, the washer was louder then I expected. I could hear it running from the basement up in the living room. My old washer was never that loud.

Terrible

We are very disappointed with this washer. It is very loud and makes a lot of racket and noise, but the biggest disappointment is that the clothes are just not getting clean even when we put it on second rinse. I have tried everything and wash my whites on hot with the right amount of detergent and they do not get clean. For instance, I always have a little bit of mascara on my pillowcase when I wash it once a week. It has always come out in the wash before, but not with the new washer. And there seems to be like a dusty lint on the sheets. I don't like it at all. I want to go back to the washer with the agitator and fills up with enough water to clean my clothes. :-(
