Kenmore 3.6 cu. ft. Top-Load Washer - Convenient and Efficient

This efficient Kenmore 3.6 cu. ft. top-load washer 2210 features an exclusive Triple Action agitator that provides motion in three directions. While the base moves back and forth, the post moves up and down and clockwise. This provides more cleaning action to ensure your laundry is washed perfectly. With an impressive 12 cycles, including Bulky, Delicates and Deep Wash, this machine allows you to choose the best cycle for each specific load. A second rinse option ensures any leftover residue is removed, and the 700 RPM spin cycle helps extract water from clothes. Get cleaner clothes using less water and less energy with this Kenmore top-load washer.

  • Combining wash basket motion, impeller rotation, and a burst of concentrated detergent, the Triple Action® agitator deep cleans fabrics while using less water.
  • A small footprint makes this washer an easy fit for apartments, basements and starter homes, while powerful performance delivers the same clean you’d expect from larger machines.
  • Multiple wash cycles give your hardy work clothes, delicate linens, and stained fabrics the treatment they need to look their best.
  • Rapid spin speeds squeeze excess water from clothes, linens and more for faster, easier transfer to your dryer and shorter dry times.

so far so good
Just purchased this washer. Have done about 10 loads so far the first day and it works great. Lots of options as far as load size and cycles. It does make different noises than I am used to with the old school agitator, but they tell you that. Just takes some getting used to. Good feature... it does let you load clothes as the water is filling up in the basin, just make sure you have the lid closed before the water stops or it will drain itself and you have to start over.

WARNING! COLD is NOT only COLD!
I recently purchased this washer to replace my old washer that would constantly go off balance. I specifically purchased the Top Load style and not an HE washer because I have heard and read many bad reviews about how HE washers do not clean clothes as well. I liked the option to be able to control water depth and temperature. Boy was I surprised when I started to wash my first load. The water fills extremely slow and literally rattles the pipes as it alternates between HOT and COLD. Although I had set the temperature to COLD, I noticed steam coming from the washer lid. I opened the lid and put my hand under the incoming water. It was completely HOT and I almost scalded my hand. I immediately thought there was something defective with the item. I contacted Sears Expert Advice and they asked if I had the hoses connected to the proper sources and then told me that the washer was "working as designed". Even though COLD is selected, the washer will add HOT water to get the water temperature up to 60 degrees. They said this feature was because detergent works better above 60 degrees. Since when? Why in the world would Kenmore make a washer that says you are washing in COLD and adds HOT water to the tub? I've ruined several pairs of expensive jeans and UnderArmor shirts because I was expecting COLD to be COLD! And to boot, the item is "Not" returnable! In my 60 years, I've never had an issue with detergent not working at temps below 60 degrees, that is absurd! What in the world possessed Kenmore to make such a ridiculous option? You can not let this washer fill with water before adding clothes or the machine will overflow. Who in the right mind would pour scalding HOT water on delicate clothes that are meant to be washed in COLD ONLY? I'm writing this review in hopes of saving someone else the heartache of ruining clothes! Nowhere in any of the published information does it state that the machine will add HOT water even when you have COLD temperature selected. Do they really want you to wash COLD only clothes in the Summer when the COLD tap water is above 60 degrees? I am completely disappointed that this was not explained to me properly when I purchased this washer.

Washer needed repair after 3 months. I recommend using a surge protector.

After 3 months of use, the washer was giving me problems. The washer would start by itself. I decided to unplug it, plug it back in and I didn't touch the start button but it would start anyway. It also didn't fill correctly. The electronic board had to be replaced. I was told that they think it was from a power surge but my 17 year old washer never did this and we have lost power many times over the years. I have decided to put a power surge protector on the outlet and hope this will help. Sears warranty did repair my washer but I am worried that this will happen again.

Too Noisy

I bought this washer and from the initial load was disappointed by the amount of noise that emitted from the machine at each point in the washing process. I was tempted to shut the door to the room I was in so I wouldn't hear it but don't think that would have helped much. I don't feel that anyone should be subjected to so much noise from a new appliance.

Almost Old School

After reading the reviews, this is exactly what I expected. Sound (Noise): Same volume as my old washer (it does sound different). Lid: Locks when running, and I don?t like that, but they all do that now. Easy to pause, open lid, close and resume (cycle does not reset, but just continues). Selecting Cycle: This is a negative because, if you select the wrong cycle, you have to hold in the reset button to have it cancel. It then empty?s the water before you can start over. (If it is hot water, it seems a waste/expense) Look: Standard height and depth, perfect. Time to do a load: I always have it set for super and extra rinse, and it does seem to take longer than my old unit, but that?s a good thing in my book. Delivery: I had to call before going to bed to confirm and get my arrival time. They had my correct phone number, but never called, they just showed up. The unit was delivered at the tail end of the 2 hour window, and the men were clean, professional, and quick. They put it exactly where it needed to be, and did a good job hooking it up. Note on HE washers: I had ordered the HE model (canceled), but was actually grossed out when viewing YouTube videos on how HE works. HE washers barely use any water, and if you have something happen, like a baby spit up on you, I would think you would want as much water as possible during the wash. Though this unit has fancy movements, it is traditional in the fact that you select the water level, and use as much water as you deem appropriate.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

love this machine!!!

I've always used a Kenmore, wouldn't own anything else!!! Clothes come out very clean and fresh, and not soaking wet, I like the clean washer cycle, I have pets and like to wash their bedding, leaving hair and lint behind, now I set my washer to clean washer cycle, and washer is clean and ready for our clothes,

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Super Clean

This is a fabulous washer and I'm so pleased with its ability to even clean clothes that have come out rather grungy-looking time and again with my old washer. I replaced a 20 year old Kenmore washer that finally gave up the ghost one Saturday morning almost 2 weeks ago. It does take longer to wash loads with this machine but it's worth the wait. I'm not sure why some reviews are complaining so much about the time it takes because I'm not in such a hurry to just sit and wait for each load to finish...I have plenty of things to do in the meantime. The sounds are different but not annoying and, honestly, I think it's much quieter than my old washer. Such a great buy and I couldn't be happier!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Know what you are getting.

Ok I personally do not write reviews just because lack of interest. But I have to this time. In a nut shell... it is not worth it even at half the price. I needed a simple but powerful machine. like my old basic Kenmore. As I found out the new basic Kenmore has a MUCH smaller motor, less mechanical and electrical hardware and a faulty programing protocol. I think the Generic washer could be brought up to speed simply by beefing up the programing and speeding up the cycles. As it stands, it is frustrating to watch it work!!! Needless to say, after one day of trial, this poor machine is going back.

Great Washer!!

I had my last Kenmore washer for 13 years, and it was passed down to me, so it was over 20 years old and I loved it. I knew I wanted another Kenmore, and I am glad I got this one. Using this washer is obviously an adjustment to a 20+ year washer, but I love it! It does lock once it starts to wash, but you can run the water while you are loading it. (and almost all new washers have this feature I found out when shopping) This washer is louder than my last Kenmore, but my house is very active so I don't really notice it. I read reviews about it taking a long time to wash each load, and it does take longer than my last one, but the clothes are cleaner and barely damp when the cycle is finished. I'm glad I stuck with a Kenmore appliance!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
No soak ability

Bought this machine recently, have had it a week. Can't complain too much about anything EXCEPT there is absolutely NO WAY to soak anything! Didn't realize washers had changed so much - was replacing a 30+ year old mechanical Maytag which was still going strong but I had decided to replace all my appliances since none were younger than 25 years old. I soak stuff. Not every week, but often enough that I NEED that option. After delivery I realized that this machine, and after going back to the store, most all new machines, either have a limited, no option, soak cycle, or none at all. If you fill this machine with water, and pause the cycle to try to soak anything, no matter whether you leave the lid up or down, it empties after 10 minutes. Period. No go-around available. So I went back to the Sears Appliance store, sat with the saleswomen for almost 2 hours researching what machines had soak options. There is only one machine, can't remember what brand, that has a maximum 90-minute soak cycle, which is automatic. You can't shut the machine off overnight to give something a really good soaking. So folks, I went to another appliance store and purchased a Speed Queen. Consumer Reports gives the SQ a pretty negative rating, but all the consumer reviews lauded it. And it's mechanical, which means I can turn it on and off, mid-cycle, to soak whatever I want, for as long as I want, and there are no electronic boards to have to replace whenever one thing goes wrong. Negative comments on the SQ were noise, but I have to say, it probably isn't any noisier than this Kenmore while spinning. My family room backs up to the garage area where this machine is located, and it was pretty loud. I wouldn't want this Kenmore inside the house near an entertainment area! Anyway, it's going back. Good machine if you don't mind that there is no way to soak anything.
