The 26.1 cu. ft. Kenmore French Door bottom-freezer refrigerator 7238 has plenty of features to help keep your food fresh and provide handy conveniences. Rollers help the bins glide smoothly and effortlessly, even when they’re fully loaded.

  • Genius Cool™ features dual evaporators that cool your refrigerator and freezer separately to help eliminate wilted lettuce and freezer-burned ice cream
  • Dual SlideAway shelves create more vertical space for storing items like wine bottles, pitchers or the occasional flower bouquet, without rearranging the fridge
  • Gallon door bins easily hold jugs, bottles and gallon containers to help clear the shelves and give you space to stock up
  • This refrigerator uses less energy than an 80-watt light bulb*, making it a real energy saver

*Based on the annual kWh rating of 700 for an 80-watt light bulb

Loving this Fridge
Got this fridge 2 weeks ago, so far we love it. It's roomy and the 2 split shelves is awesome when you need to put in tall bottles. The middle door is ideal for items, like cheese and cold cuts. The ice and water dispenser works just fine. I have had no problems with it. So far no big deal with fingerprints, but then the grand kids haven't been here yet. Oh, and we can't wait until we buy our pizzas so we can use the pizza caddy in the freezer. I was always a Whirlpool person, but after all they do make the Kenmore. So I'm happy.

Functionally Superior w/ One MAJOR Flaw!
After spending an exhausting amount of time researching refrigerators, I went to ******, ******** and Sears and spent several hours at each store. Ultimately decided on this fridge primarly b/c of the refrigerator drawer, french door style and 3 solid drawers in the freezer. My spouse was also very big on the lighting and I will admit it's quite wonderful. Functionally this fridge is awesome and everything we hoped for. We spend 80% of our fridge time looking in the fridge and not the freezer. This fridge makes everything so much easier to see compared to our Samsung side by side. So here is the rub, and to some it's pretty important and to others maybe not so much. After it was plugged in I quickly discovered this fridge is loud - Noticeably loud. My Samsung had basically zero noise except when ice was dumping. This fridge has a low hum that is constant. If your living area is near your kitchen or opened to your kitchen, and subtle background noises bother you, then I would move on. What I determined is that that it's not the actual compressor but in fact the fan that blows cold air across the top section of the refrigeration section where the ice is made and then dumped down into the door ice holder. This fan noise is constant b/c the ice machine is in the fridge so to make the ice it has to do this and it also blows down into the area where the ice is at to keep it frozen. Again, this is b/c it's in the fridge area and if it did not do this the ice would of course eventually melt. For me this is incredibly annoying. For my spouse it's no big deal and the functionality counters this negative. I can say the hum does get slightly quieter after a few days and the fridge is running at full efficiency, but for me it's just annoying and had I known this i would have purchased something else.

Quality problems and loud

Nice looking fridge with great features but I had two of these delivered and returned both. The first one leaked water from a vent inside the fridge (it filled a cup overnight). And it make an annoying high pitch sound almost constantly. The second fridge just didn't work. It did not cool and wouldn't make a single ice cube in the three days I had it. It was dead on arrival. This one made a loud buzzing noise. If it weren't for the operational defects I would have returned both because the noise would have made me crazy. I had no confidence a third try would be any better or have any longevity. It's unfortunate because this is a nicely designed fridge. I ended up buying a Samsung instead and it is very quiet. If you buy this fridge you better get the extended warranty.

Very good

Aside from the fact that the delivery people failed to properly attach the door and handle of the freezer compartment, it seems to work beautifully.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Buyer BEWARE.....

If you are considering the purchase of a major appliance, I suggest you read this. The Kenmore 26.1 cu. ft. French Door refrigerator that I purchased on August 28, 2014 is about 3 months old and currently has stopped maintaining a proper cooling temperature in the main compartment and no longer making ice. I initiated a service repair request on Nov 11, 2014 and they came out and they topped it of with freon and told me there was a leak which was likely in the body of the fridge where it could not be repaired. But, this would fix the problem until the freon leaked out again. This did not fix anything. I called them back out within 24 hours because it never got cold Nov. 12 another service request a mother board was ordered and installed on Nov. 19. Tech said it will take 24 hours to reach proper temps and to make ice - nothing. Nov. 20 a service request was made and the customer service agent said she would put it in as an emergency and someone would call me back that day for a Friday time slot - No one called - and I did not have any idea as to my appointment. They service guy that called Monday ordered another part and it is suppose to be here 12/3. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I do not have a fridge/freezer. It makes a singing noise every 5 minutes it?s so annoying. I have ZERO faith that this will resolve the problem and ZERO faith in SEARS.

On my second refrigerator and sending this one back too! NOISY!

I loved the features of this frig. I love all the freezer drawers ,shelf options and the lighting. There is one HUGE issue with this frig and that is the NOISE!!! The first one had something obviously wrong- every time I opened a door I would hear a loud fan and a ticking noise also sitting in my living room having not opened a door at all it would be making a loud noise in the compressor. the freezer also did not seal and ice was forming around one side of the door. I got a replacement within the 30 day cut-off and it was delivered today. I am sitting here listening to this new frig and it is making such a loud humming noise I cant hear the TV!! also this frig was delivered with a big dent in the side so it is going back next week! I had a service Tech come out on the first one and he said oh this is just normal noise with the frig and the ice was because I had over loaded it--NOT, He did nothing to fix the Frig. This experience has been a nightmare and I will be going to sears today to trade this purchase for ANY other brand... besides this one! I have been purchasing nothing but Kenmore brands since 1980--I am no longer a loyal Kenmore customer after this experience.

Love my French Door Refrigerator!

After looking at similar refrigerators in various stores, this model had all the features we wanted plus a great sale price. We replaced our stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator. Now everything is so much easier to view and to access. The adjustable and slider shelves let you customize storage to your needs.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Fabulous features but loud

We researched fridges a lot before we made our purchase. What sold us on this particular model were the features. We LOVE the drawer that allows you to choose the right temperature for what you're storing. We eat primarily fruits and veggies, and for a family of six, this fridge holds a ton of the food we use the most. The freezer is also amazingly huge. I was able to unplug my deep freeze as this freezer holds all the extra food I was storing in my deep freeze. I love the lighting inside. Everything is easy to see. The water dispenser is wonderful and easy to use and accurately dispenses however much water you'd like. The ice machine makes fabulous ice. Truly this is a wonderful fridge and I LOVE it....except it is loud. I read all the other reviews from owners and most mention the noise and it's true. It's loud. Strangely loud in fact. I expected a little fan noise here and there and noise as the ice machine runs, but the noises that come from this fridge are very loud and not what you'd expect. Regardless, I wouldn't choose another fridge. The benefits greatly outweigh the noise.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Lemon

It is the noisiest unit we have ever had. It runs almost constantly. When it does cycle off it isn't for very long at a time. The ice cubes freeze into a solid blob. We will be calling for service. This is a poor way to start off with a new appliance. It makes you wonder where it will go from here. We are very unhappy with our purchase.
