Kenmore 27" Laundry Center - Full Performance, Less Space

Though compact and designed to fit in tight spaces, the Kenmore 27" laundry center 7153 refuses to compromise on performance. The 3.2 cu. ft. capacity washer offers nine wash cycles to accommodate any combination of fabric and soil. You can adjust wash/rinse temperatures, wash/spin speed combinations and even water levels for a fully customized cleaning experience. The dryer unit on the Kenmore Laundry Center is likewise spacious, with 5.9 cu. ft. of capacity and enough drying power to tackle your bulkiest loads. Easy electronic rotary controls set in the middle of this stackable unit allow you to adjust for your needs.

  • A small footprint makes this washer an easy fit for apartments, basements and starter homes, while powerful performance delivers the same clean you’d expect from larger machines.
  • A small footprint makes this dryer an easy fit for apartments, basements and starter homes, while solid performance delivers the same drying you’d expect from larger machines.
  • Multiple wash cycles give your hardy work clothes, delicate linens, and stained fabrics the treatment they need to look their best.

Kenmore 27'' Laundry center with Gas Dryer
I tryed it out for the first time and I do say that when the washer was going it was making alot of loud sounds that we didn't like all though it was working just fine no problems with it..... The dryer is very nice and BIG to fit alot of clothes in it and it throws alot of heat to dry my clothes that's a plus.....What I like about this combo washer and dryer unit it saves us money because it uses less energy that's another plus that I like.... Excellent product Sears and Kenmore brand name keep it up will buy again from Sears online or at the store....

I'd give it NO stars if I could

I had a Frigidaire stacked unit from Sears which had so many problems that the Sears technician invoked the lemon law and had it replaced. We got this unit, which I hate! Got it in Nov of 2011 and to date they have been out at least seven times. Have another service call this week. First complaint - it was loud, loud, loud, in spin cycle. Tech said it was my loads - to do either all light, or all heavy. Makes no difference. Does not get clothes as clean as last machine, does not spin them near as dry, dryer takes twice as long to dry and does not get as hot. I could go on and on. Technicians who come out are having to come out more than once to fix problems. THIS time, 3 of the four rods which hold tub suspended have come undone, because machine SPINS TOO VIOLENTLY, THUS THE HORRIBLE NOISE IN SPIN CYCLE.

Kenmore used to be a good product. No more. I am frustrated because they will invoke the lemon law again, and I will be stuck with ANOTHER Sears machine, and Sears service. Sears is having major problems surviving because they no longer produce quality products or service. It is a nightmare dealing with them. If I were independently wealthy I would rip this out, and buy a new unit from ANYONE ELSE BUT SEARS, and I would NEVER, EVER deal with that sorry company again.

sounds like a jet on the tarmac

Like most people I'm dissatisfied to say the least. Clothes don't come out that clean and the spin cycle emits noise that you would expect to hear on the tarmac at a busy airport. Look elsewhere. This was my last Sears/Kenmore purchase unfortunately.

Not Reliable do not buy

This unit had a big gap between the tub and the surface. Clothes will easily fall inside and get stuck in the belt. It stopped spinning and broke the sensor. The repair technician said this is a known problem and they received multiple calls with the same issue. The machine is a year old. I didn't buy a warranty with the thought in mind that Kenmore is a reliable brand. New appliances usually last 3 yrs at least. It cost me $600 to repair. I complained to Sears and their response was I should have purchased a warranty. I will never buy a Kenmore product again.

Don't buy this unit

We bought this unit and have had nothing, but problems from day one. First the tub would not drain, then black dots on clothes and the final straw was the noise. You could not have a conversation during the spin cycle. Four service call in the first 6 months. They replaced, I believe, the transmission and then more problems with emptying. It was continuous. Finally, they replaced the unit. I had to get the same machine, because this is the only one available through Sears. I really wanted a refund, but I am stuck. I bought this unit based on my prior confidence in Sears and Kenmore products. This was my first mistake. Sears products aren't what they once were. I will never buy another Sears appliance! Please do your research on the stackable units and don't buy this one!!!

DO NOT BUY-unless you have a desire to see repairmen often!!

1) Too loud when washing clothes 2) Doesn't drain, or doesn't drain completely-despite 3 servicemen here in >3mo. 3) Takes forever to dry! 4) Poor quality from previous stackable that we had for 14 yrs. Hate this machine, can't wait to get something else!!

Works just fine

Bought this as it was the only unit available on short notice, tht would fit the space, after the old stacked Kenmore cratered after more than a decade. I was leery after reading reviews, but it has performed adequately and quietly. Wish it had an end of dry cycle buzzer and a dryer light, but other than that, it is fine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Tub Gasket failed!

Purchased in February 2011 (manufactured Nov 2010). Tub gasket failed 20 months later! Leaked and damaged ball bearings. Repair estimated to cost $515.00. Usually Kenmore appliances have been reliable.

Read, review before buy

I bought this machine 1 week ago. The wash cycle doesn't go all the way and my clothes doesn't rinse all the way. Water still dripping from my clothes when i take them out of the washer. The water doesn't fill the washer per load. The dryer doesn't work. I don't even want to exchange it, I want a return! The older Kenmore models worked better. I am very disappointed with this machine from Kenmore.

Positives and Negatives on new laundry center

I like the quiet of the product. That said when I first used the product I noticed several problems. When I set the washer to hot, the water was cold. The clothes did not spin dry well, and the new style of washer seems to just barely agitate the clothes. I called to have service check the unit. The installer/ delivery people had connected the hoses backwards. The technician corrected this problem. I also expressed concern that the washer didn't spin enough water out of the clothes. Via a computer app he checked the cycle. Since I didn't want him in my home forever, we used a light cycle and for whatever reason, the clothes felt drier than they ever had on a more powerful cycle! My son's t-shirts do not get as clean as with my old washer; so now I just hang them instead of drying them. My other clothes seem to be fine. My only complaint with the dryer is that it pulls off the buttons on my husband's flannel shirts---the holes on the drum are too big. I love the fact that the dryer does not beep when it is done. This means I can put clothes in late at night and know that it won't wake anyone up with an annoying loud series of beeps. I hope this model lasts longer than my last washer/ dryer combo---the dryer died at only age 8! (also a Sears unit)

I would recommend this product to a friend.
