Happy with the product overall excel when getting ice from the dispenser in the door no matter how close you get the cup to the top or if it's cubes or crushed always a mess on the floor
I purchased this fridge after deciding on the one at the showroom at the store. First all one of the reasons I liked this one is because it had the blue lights instead of the green ones as the other model I was considering, when I took delivery it was the same model I ordered but it had green lights, oh well not that big of a deal I will live with it. I noticed something on top of the fridge that didn't seem ordinary so after looking on top there was on the right side a piece of silver metal tape (my fridge is black) and on the other side was an inventory sticker. I pulled up the tape and there was a 3/4 inch hole as well as the same on the other side. I was not happy so I called customer service and told them and they said they would send out another one ok fine, so I got the other one in a couple of days and it had the same issues. Then I was told that the holes is where they fill it with insulation yeh ok but why use such a cheap temporary cover up for such an easy fix, they could have use some plastic black plugs or a metal square painted too match or at least some black metal tape. I couldn't believe that sears would put out such a cheaply made product. But after some more arguing with them I just decided to keep it and fix it myself. It does cool well but as everyone else says the ice dispenser on the crushed setting throws out on the floor, another easy fix, just add a 1/2 inch extension.
The ice constantly gets stuck in ice shoot, the ice dispenser door doesn't close well. Ice melts and then drips on stainless doors causing issues with the finish. Constant FROST all over the ice bucket, freezer door and frost covering/blocking the ice shoot. Had "4" repair men out, they rewired it, replaced all moving parts, reprogrammed it, everyone of them said they fixed it but they didn't, the frost was back within hours. Had to wait for over 4 hours for each repair appmt, all for nothing. Repair man said it's common issue with this model and many other models. Good news is after all that hassle of calling the corporate complaint dept and alot of stress and frustration, they are going to replace it. Problem is, they want to replace with SAME MODEL which will most likely have the SAME issues so that is NOT acceptable. I have to pay the EXTRA money if I want to replace it with a unit that is better quality, so while I am glad they are going to replace this unit, it appears that I am being penalized for the poor quality standards of the manufacturers. FYI- the drawers are HORRIBLE! they do NOT slide in or out easily, often get stuck and are flimsy. VERY FRUSTRATING!!
My Kenmore side by side is a piece of junk. The ice maker never worked right even after 2 repair visits and then it was out of warranty .Now the freezer is leaking water all over my new wood floor.I find ice on the freezer bottom and then it leaks out onto the floor, aldso the shelving is so cheap it keeps cracking and breaking.I will never buy another kenmore product again
Good, Dependable refrigerator, the only complaint I have is the ice maker spills over the sides of all glasses. I have to use a big tupperware container but that solves the ice problem. I like the space and ample drawer space. Its doing a good job cooling. Very pleased so far.
We purchased this refrigerator in May of 2014 and are very unsatisfied with many aspects of it. First off, the black scratches horribly. You can't hang anything on it with our fear that the magnet will scratch it. Second as one other review stated, the water dispenser is extremely loud. I am not sure if this is normal. Although it states that is it 25.4 cu. ft, there is not a lot of room. Had a fridge the same size and it definately doesn't hold as much as that one used to. I am very unsatisfied with the quality of this refrigerator and kenmore products in general. Used to be a household name, but I think they are loosing their touch with their appliances. I will not be purchasing another kenmore appliance.

We've had this refrigerator for a month and I am mostly pleased, but the water dispenser IS loud. Careful placement of glass minimizes spilled ice. I wish freezer door bins were adjustable for height, but shelves are wide enough for frozen pizzas to lie flat. The refrigerator side has good storage and drawer or shelf options, although an extra door bin would be ideal for my use. I like the interior lights and the indicator lights on the door dispenser provide a night light for the kitchen. I was used to a light coming on automatically when water or ice were dispensed, so I miss that feature rather than having to turn the light on manually. I will be very pleased if this Kenmore model lasts a lot longer than a different brand it replaced that was not quite 5 years old. Wishing for the days when appliances lasted 25 years or more.
I had purchased a Sears refrigerator in 1993 , a side-by-side with water and ice , and was very pleased . The quality was much better than the recently purchased appliance .. I was tempted to return the new one and live with a minor nuisance with the older unit but decided to live with my disappointment with the inferior refrigerator as the older unit could fail . The service personnel related to the expected life of the new unit is about half of what we had with the 1993 model gave us . I suspect that this is more an industrial problem than a Sears issue .
