Not perfect, but a great refrigerator for this price point.
We bought this refrigerator because our old Kenmore was 15 years old and we wanted to delegate it as a garage refrigerator while while we transition our kitchen to stainless. This has a real stainless front as magnets will not adhere to it. The grey sides are regular steel however. We got this for a price we could not pass up and it was on Consumer Reports list as a good choice. It's quiet, looks nice and has more space than most refrigerators in this category due to the fact that the ice maker is NOT in the door. It's in the freezer (where it belongs) and takes up very little space. Old-school perhaps, but easy to replace and will likely keep this fridge trouble free. The fewer electronic boards on appliances the better IMHO. The doors are harder to close than standard refrigerators but thankfully it has an alarm that beeps after 30 seconds as a friendly reminder. It also helps me know when the kids are just standing there staring into it's vastness pondering what to eat. The only other issue is that refrigerator door shelves don't offer as much adjustability as the could. We have a ton of condiments and it was a chore figuring out how to fit them all in. Sometimes pulling them in and out is tight too. A gallon of milk fits but it was such a struggle we delegated it to the top shelf instead. I really like the freezer on the bottom since we access the fridge more often, we never have to bend over to find things. The other benefit to this new eye level convenience is that we're more like to use our leftovers simply because we can see they are in there. I can't tell you how many times we've found foot tucked away in the depths of our standard fridge simply because it was blocked from view! Overall, this is a good refrigerator especially for what we paid for a model like this. We've had for about 6 months and my wife really likes it too. Which quite frankly matters most!

Beware of design problem
We've had the refrigerator almost two years now. We really like the bottom freezer with its easily accessible space. It is also very efficient - our electric bills dropped ~10% when we replaced our 18 yr. old model. However, you should be aware of a problem with the french doors on the refrigerator section. In the gasket at the top of each door there is a small plastic hook that helps keep the door closed. The problem is one of those hooks broke off after about 18 months. The repair necessitated replacing the entire door gasket at a cost of $125. The repairman indicated this is a common problem (my sister's similar model had the same issue) that could be avoided by opening or closing the french doors one at a time. Evidently when they are opened/closed together there is not enough room for both hooks to swing free so the plastic gets stressed and eventually breaks. It would have been nice to know this when we bought the refrigerator, so we could avoid the problem in the first place. I'm confident that we can prevent a recurring problem, but knowing what I do now, I'd probably choose a model with a different style door gasket in the first place.

badly made fridge; Kenmore does not stand by its products

I love the layout design of this refrigerator; everything about it really, except that after 1 year 7 months, it suddenly died. Our repairman assured us that it was nothing we had done to kill it, and since it was a very expensive repair, he suggested that we call Sears to see what they could do for us, since it was so new and only 7 months past the short warranty. I completely lost all confidence in Kenmore and Sears, as they sold a very poorly made produce and then refused any amelioration of the problem this created, financially or otherwise. I would not buy another Kenmore product, at least not an expensive one that I planned on keeping a while, and I unfortunately cannot recommend this refrigerator to anybody who wants theirs to last more than a year.

So Impressed

First off, this fridge is huge. I bought the Kenmore 25.0 cu. ft. French Door Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator in black, and pictures don't lie. It's an impressive appliance that is rated vey high with ConsumerReports. The pull-out bottom freezer offers 7.5 cu. ft. Beyond being a sturdy and spacious appliance, it is energy efficient, running at an expected cost of $51 a year. Now that's impressive! My only issue is that it does hold fingerprints.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very happy with this fridge

Replaced a 10 year old top freezer LG that was a lemon from the start. This fridge is very roomy, bright, with tons of options for fitting all sorts of food packages. Love the bottom freezer, especially the tilt shelf on the door. It fits perfectly and upgrades the whole kitchen. Great value too with the low sale price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Expensive Looking Refrigerator For Less

We really like our new refrigerator and so far it is working well. It has a lot of room and has a really nice and classy look in our kitchen. It matches our other appliances well even though they aren't the same brand. So it fits right in with lots of styles. I like the way the freezer is arranged with its pull out drawer and larger bin on the bottom. This refrigerator has the look of an expensive refrigerator, but was reasonably priced. I gave this refrigerator one star less than perfect because the bins on the doors seem to be flimsy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great so far!

I had a Kenmore refrig for 14 years and loved it. So when it went out I shopped around and found myself right back at Sears. The french doors are new to me but I have found that I really like them. The only thing I had to get use to not being able to put the milk on the door. The freezer is huge! I have only had it a couple weeks but so far so good. I am definitely happy with my purchase and they even sold it to me for the online price!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great fridge

Researched to find the right fridge to replace a 9 year old Kenmore side-by-side. We have been very pleased thus far. It feels like it has much more room both in the fridge and freezer (love the bottom freezer drawer!). It's also very quiet, has bright lighting, and doesn't even seem to big in our small kitchen. The french doors do not swing so far back when fully open that they hit the counter on either side. (If it had been counter-depth, this could possibly be a problem in our kitchen layout. Standard depth allows more space on either side and prevents denting the door.) Doors open at a nice angle, not all the way flat, but allow you ample room to find what you need. Highly recommend!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Fabulous Refridgerator!

Absolutely love this refridgerator. The shelves are adjustable. There is plenty of room on the doors for gallon bottles. The vegetable and fruit drawers keep the veggies and fruit crisp and fresh. I also love the "party tray" drawer, it is so convenient.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
