Kenmore 25.0 cu. ft. French Door Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator

Whether you're hosting a big event or just feeding your family, the Kenmore French Door refrigerator 7160 has plenty of space. Four Adjustable Glass Shelves, pantry drawer and deep gallon-sized door bins give you plenty of storage, and two humidity-controlled crisper drawers keep veggies fresh. The pull-out bottom freezer offers another 7.5 cu. ft. of space. The energy-efficient design saves money, and with the Kenmore bottom-freezer refrigerator's GeniusCool™ technology and advanced air-flow control system, food is always stored at the perfect temperature.

  • A full-width, gourmet pantry drawer stores party platters, pizzas, pies, trays and more while clearing shelf space for better organization and easier storage.
  • Spacious, tight-sealing and designed to control humidity, Kenmore crisper drawers deliver fresh, crunchy fruit and vegetables, so you can stock up on produce.
  • Advanced Air Flow uses strategically placed vents to balance cool air throughout the entire refrigerator, so even the items on the door stay cool.
  • Spill-proof tempered glass shelves keep drips, drizzles and spills from spreading throughout the fridge, making cleanup fast and easy.
  • Genius Cool™ features dual evaporators that cool your refrigerator and freezer separately to help eliminate wilted lettuce and freezer-burned ice cream.

Not perfect, but a great refrigerator for this price point.
We bought this refrigerator because our old Kenmore was 15 years old and we wanted to delegate it as a garage refrigerator while while we transition our kitchen to stainless. This has a real stainless front as magnets will not adhere to it. The grey sides are regular steel however. We got this for a price we could not pass up and it was on Consumer Reports list as a good choice. It's quiet, looks nice and has more space than most refrigerators in this category due to the fact that the ice maker is NOT in the door. It's in the freezer (where it belongs) and takes up very little space. Old-school perhaps, but easy to replace and will likely keep this fridge trouble free. The fewer electronic boards on appliances the better IMHO. The doors are harder to close than standard refrigerators but thankfully it has an alarm that beeps after 30 seconds as a friendly reminder. It also helps me know when the kids are just standing there staring into it's vastness pondering what to eat. The only other issue is that refrigerator door shelves don't offer as much adjustability as the could. We have a ton of condiments and it was a chore figuring out how to fit them all in. Sometimes pulling them in and out is tight too. A gallon of milk fits but it was such a struggle we delegated it to the top shelf instead. I really like the freezer on the bottom since we access the fridge more often, we never have to bend over to find things. The other benefit to this new eye level convenience is that we're more like to use our leftovers simply because we can see they are in there. I can't tell you how many times we've found foot tucked away in the depths of our standard fridge simply because it was blocked from view! Overall, this is a good refrigerator especially for what we paid for a model like this. We've had for about 6 months and my wife really likes it too. Which quite frankly matters most!

Beware of design problem
We've had the refrigerator almost two years now. We really like the bottom freezer with its easily accessible space. It is also very efficient - our electric bills dropped ~10% when we replaced our 18 yr. old model. However, you should be aware of a problem with the french doors on the refrigerator section. In the gasket at the top of each door there is a small plastic hook that helps keep the door closed. The problem is one of those hooks broke off after about 18 months. The repair necessitated replacing the entire door gasket at a cost of $125. The repairman indicated this is a common problem (my sister's similar model had the same issue) that could be avoided by opening or closing the french doors one at a time. Evidently when they are opened/closed together there is not enough room for both hooks to swing free so the plastic gets stressed and eventually breaks. It would have been nice to know this when we bought the refrigerator, so we could avoid the problem in the first place. I'm confident that we can prevent a recurring problem, but knowing what I do now, I'd probably choose a model with a different style door gasket in the first place.

Awsome refrigirator

Great value for the design, space and functionality. The various adjustable compartments makes storing food and drinks so easy! The soft closing french doors and white light inside the refrigerator makes it so much attractive. One great feature I love is an alarm goes off when the doors remain open longer the 30 seconds. The only negative is the bottom-freezer does not close softly.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great so far

It's just what I was looking for. Color I wanted was available and size I wanted was available. The refrigerator was too large to get in my house (due to a pull screen door on the front door, but the delivery person made it work by going to the extra trouble of taking off the three front doors, Delivery was exceptional! Earlier than expected and the delivery person was very helpful and courteous. All the storage spaces are so convenient and are keeping all the food at the temperatures promised in the user manual. The refrigerator cooled to the ideal temperature much sooner than expected. Had ice cubes and freezer stocked in just a few hours. Great buy! I would recommend this refrigerator to anyone looking for a great buy and a great refrigerator.

French door refrigerator

This refrigerator has plenty of room in it to hold just about anything you need to store. You don't have to worry that your cake or tray is too wide because this refrigerator can accommodate it. I love the glass shelves that are adjustable as well. The doors close nicely and have a warning bell if one is left open.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love my new refrigrator

Love how roomy it is, the shelves are easily adjustable to fit different items and then adjust quickly when I have large trays with my large family gathering. The coolness seems even so I feel comfortable putting my milk on the door shelf.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great product.

We've had this refrigerator for about 1 month. I love the French Door style. The freezer is very large & easy to use. You can see everything at eye level in the top when the doors are open, no more bending over to see whats inside. We found it at a lower price online & it was matched in the store.

Great buy, great fridge!

So far so good, this fridge has been good for us...rather quiet, seems pretty efficient... Stainless Steel can be hard to keep clean, and won't let you stick magnets to it, but that's just stainless steel...overall, a good buy...

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good Purchase

Love the shelves that slide out for easy reaching to back of upper shelves. Door bins also offer easy access. Only negative is that the doors frequently don't close all of the way. The alarm that sounds is the saving grace. The delivery was smooth and even 15 minutes ahead of the 2 hour window - wonderful!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
