I bought this unit less than two years ago and already it broke. I replaced another Kenmore that lasted almost 5 years before it finally broke. Warranty is worthless as you have to sit around and wait for service. This unit froze over and the compressor wont shut off. I was told its the circuit board. STAY AWAY from Kenmore buy anything else. Its JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK
We bought one of these 2 years ago, it would not get cold already this year during the hottest week of the year, so we went and got this one less than 3 weeks ago, went to turn it on this morning after only using it a handful of times in the last 3 weeks and unit will not power on at all. Will never buy another Kenmore air conditioner again, and will consider never buying another Kenmore anything ever again, needless to say this unit is going to be returning tomorrow morning and I will get a refund.

This is a great product! Keeps it super cold in extremely hot temperatures and high humidity. Highly recommended. Installation is not too bad if you have a strong back for lifting. Easy to clean filter and easy to use controls. Love the Energy Saver feature. After owning a year the control panel has went out.

This would be the perfect AC unit for a large living room. We had an existing 230v outlet in our kitchen for a previous AC unit. We were hoping to cool a medium kitchen along with our connected living room. The AC cools the kitchen nicely. However the cooling effect does not transfer well into the living room. I do believe the unit is doing what it was designed to do and it has many nice features. My advice: use a room AC for one room and size it accordingly.

It took my son and his freind a very short time to install. It runs great! I leave it on energy saver and it cools just fine. It is not noisy. It is very easy to operate. It took a few days to find the optimal temperature for our liking but now I hardly ever have to touch it. It is such an improvement to my 20 year old unit that went up which ran constantly. I can't wait to see the savings compared to last summer! Great investment!!
I am very pleased with this air conditioner. Even on low, it puts out massive amounts of cold air. It runs real quiet for a large unit. Let's face it, no 25,000 BTU unit is going to be whisper quiet. One thing about the noise level is worth mentioning. When installed properly, you will almost never see condensation dripping from the rear of the unit. The unit is designed to hold condensed water in the floor of the unit to help dissipate excess heat. If you live in an area with high humidity, the water in the basin will get deep enough that the fan motor will start to hit and splash the water around the interior of the unit to help further dissipate heat. The fan blade hitting the water will cause some noise as it hits the water. This is nothing to worry about and the noise created is faint but noticeable at times. Also, I would recommend buying the master service agreement on any window unit. Sears will clean your unit once a year for free. This alone pays for the cost of the warranty
