Kenmore 24 inch electric wall oven
This oven is very easy to use. Controls are set up well. It does have electronic temperature control, not mechanical as stated on the specifications list on this site. The one and only beep for the preheat feature can be easily missed when the oven gets to temperature. The wife really likes her new oven and has no problems using the electronic controls. She picked this oven because it had an oven with interior space close to her old Whirlpool oven and does not care for a lot of dodads that complicate use. I installed it myself and appreciated the long power cable. I had to enlarge the opening width by 3/4 inch, otherwise it slid into our old oven's hole. Also,I liked the lower amperage draw (because it cycles between the upper and lower elements in preheat never having both elements on at the same time) that required me to replace the old 30 amp breaker with a 20 amp one. Note that the wire size furnished with the oven is too small for a 30 amp breaker.

Beyond Bare Bones Oven
We're very disappointed with this oven. Having had the same model, purchased perhaps 20 years ago, we expected something of the same quality. While the oven works fine so far (one month later) and there were no surprises in terms of the measurements that were listed, the most basic features of the oven are sorely lacking: -----1. The timer on the oven is very nearly inaudible, even standing in the kitchen. The sound is so low that my father can't even hear it with his hearing aid on, and I can't hear it from the living room. Furthermore, it beeps only one time and then is done. We called Sears repair and were told that the timer volume is not adjustable on this model. We ended up having to shell out more money for a timer that is audible and continues sounding. -----2. The oven light does not turn on automatically when the oven door is opened. There is a switch to manually turn it on, but who wants to keep having to turn a switch off an on? Since the manual says that the oven door will trigger the light on, we called to have it repaired. When the repairman came, he said that this model of oven does not have the interior switch to trigger the light on. So, in a nutshell, you have to manually turn the light on every time you open the door. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Even in a bottom-of-the-line appliance, this should be standard. -----3. As someone else mentioned, the temperature reading does not change after it's set. You set it to 350 and the reading stays at 350 rather than showing the current temperature as our previous model did. The only way to know that it has reached the set temperature is by standing next to the oven and awaiting that inaudible beep that I mentioned earlier. I knew about this thanks to reading the posted reviews, but it's still worth mentioning again. -----All in all, I seriously regret having purchased this model -- or perhaps the Kenmore brand in general. Since our purchase there have been two different news reports on our local television station about the 'shattering doors' on the Kenmore ovens and Sears terrible customer service. Had we seen these previously, we might have reconsidered this purchase. As it is, I hope to at least give potential customers more information upon which to base their purchase decision.

My Kenmore Wall Oven

The Kenmore wall oven is a great buy for the price. Being that Kenmore is a Sears brand I know that sears always stands behind there products.

Nothing fits...

I would not recommend this wall oven at all. I can barely maneuver any of my baking pans in this oven. It is extremely narrow.

Great oven!

This oven is great! Very attractive design. I find that the oven is about 10-20 degrees hotter than it reads. Foods are cooked perfectly. Due to it being manual clean, my suggestion would be to wipe down the inside of the oven, once it cools, after every meal.

not as good as old model

hard to tell when temperature is reached, as indicator does not start at 0 and end at say 350, but starts at the temperature you set. doesn't come with a broiler pan & insert, you have to purchase one separately, Wish I could have seen a demo model in the store, had to chose from a catalog.

Love my new Kenmore wall oven

The door hinge on our very old Kenmore wall oven broke and the part is no longer available. A check of the website showed there was no replacement oven. We measured the old oven and the hole in the wall and, with very little adjustment, we were able to fit this new oven into the opening. I was skeptical of the purchase because other reviews said you couldn't fit a cookie sheet into the oven. That was the first thing I tried to do, even before we installed the oven. It is too long to fit the width, but it does fit the length perfectly. I'm very happy with this new oven!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
