Product Description

Kenmore 24" Manual Clean Double Wall Oven - User-Friendly

Cooking two meals at once is an attainable goal when your kitchen is equipped with the Kenmore 24" manual-clean double wall oven 4061. The upper oven boasts a roomy 2.9 cu. ft. and the lower oven an even more spacious 3.2 cu. ft., and can easily accommodate a few dishes at a time. Slide some of your favorite casseroles and side dishes inside and when the timer dings, safely remove the warm dishes with handle-style oven racks. The design of these racks allows a firmer grip and safety to slide dishes out for easier access.

  • From keeping a stack of pizzas toasty to cooking Thanksgiving dinner, this Kenmore delivers plenty of room, so you can load it up and enjoy hot, delicious meals, treats and more.
  • Heavy-duty handle style oven racks slide in and out smoothly while easily supporting large entrees, for convenient roasting, baking and broiling.
  • Extra-large viewing windows let you check baked goods without opening the oven, helping keep temperatures consistent, so delicate pastries, breads and cakes can rise undisturbed.
  • The Self-cleaning function conveniently cleans the oven's interior using high temperatures to burn spills, soil and soot away without a bit of scrubbing.

Satisfied - with slight reservations and a caution
Positives + Quiet - No fan noise as with similar ovens from other manufacturers. + Control features - Digital controls for both the upper & lower oven offer a range of features, such an independent upper & lower oven light, timer & warm & hold feature. The controls are easy to use once you read the operation manual to understand what the oven can do. Negatives -Small interior - Standard size baking sheets will fit. -Oven racks - The wire oven racks are angled in the back. If using a larger baking sheet, the sheet won't fit against the back of the rack without being at an angle. Note: The bottom oven is manual cleaning while the top oven is self-cleaning. But use care whenever cooking with the bottom oven. The clear glass area of the door gets EXTREMELY hot & could scare or maybe burn someone when it's touched. This is normal of newer ovens that aren't self-cleaning, as with the lower oven on this unit.

just ok

Purchased in Feb.2001 so I've been using them for 5 months. Had to buy these to fit existing space...they still didn't fit, too long. They had to cut through 1/2 of lower cabinet so my storage is now aprox.12" in height (also no door there now). Bummer. They had no floor models so took salesmans assurences that the ovens were big! Ha! Both ovens are smaller than the ones I had there yet this one takes up more room. Huh? No, they're not better insulated at all! Not even a little. So I gotta ask...why is it bigger?

Lower oven barely fits my med. size cookie sheets and won't fit my med. size  roasting pan. And as for the height........a very small turkey, maybe, at Thanksgiving, otherwise just a chicken.

Upper oven will fit a small casserole (or 2 if you use the 2nd shelf and the pans/cassaroles aren't too tall). Luckily I had a really small cookie sheet that I can use there. Who wants to use just one oven ??? It would take twice the time. Oh yeah, large pizza box to keep warm, no way!

Do most baking in 'larger' lower oven and guess which oven is the self-clean???? Right, the upper one that I rarely use because it's so small.

They take longer to heat up than my old ones. They're flimsey plastic around the outside, the door handles are plastic too and the control panel is not real sturdy either.

Now the good part.............they work. Oh, the black looks nice. I sure do wish I had more good to say but..........................well, I just don't.

Overall
Very narrow top oven

This model was purchased to replace a 24-inch Whirlpool double-oven that was killed by a power surge.  The old Whirlpool unit and the new Kenmore had very similar specifications. Both have self-cleaning top ovens, which is a great feature, assuming that most baking will be done in the top oven.  We selected this oven because it unit came the closest to fitting the existing opening, and because the features seemed to be comparable.  Also, reviews for the Kenmore seemed to be mostly favorable.

It is very difficult to really understand oven dimensions, based on specifications listed.  I measured the old oven accurately, but the measurements didn't really seem to match the specs for the old Whirlpool unit. That made it difficult to understand the oven dimensions for the new Kenmore.  Do you measure wall-to-wall, or between the supports for the wire racks.  Does the vertical measurement go wall-to-wall, or should one exclude the heating elements?

Bottom line is that the top oven on the new Kenmore is MUCH smaller than the old Whirlpool.  Very disappointing, because it is difficult for my wife to lift heavy items from the bottom oven, and if most baking has to be done in the bottom oven, it is not self-cleaning.  I assume that the  top oven on the Kenmore unit is narrower to provide for additional insulation to protect cabinets during the self-cleaning process, but if that is the case, why was Whirlpool able to accomplish the same thing with a wider top oven?

I had not purchased ANYTHING from Sears for about 25 years, due to quality and customer service issues in years past.  This purchase is another expensive lesson.

Kenmore Double Wall Oven Is Great!

We purchased the 24" size to fit our space available. It's great having a double wall oven, which allowed us to purchase a cooktop and store all our pots and pans in the drawers under the cooktop. The wall oven is easily programmed for bake temperature and it signals when pre-heated. The timer, too, is easy to set. Both ovens cook evenly. The oven came with a coupon for a broiler pan for a small fee, which arrived about three weeks later. You will love this oven!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love this oven!

We have had this oven for over two years now and we LOVE it! We had to get a smaller oven to fit in the space that the old oven was in and this one fit perfectly. We didn't have a lot of choices so I figured we would have to settle. That was not the case. This oven is beautiful, functional and efficient. Bought in March '09 and have not had a single problem with the unit.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
