Kenmore 24" Built-In Dishwasher w/ PowerWash™ Spray Arm

This Kenmore® built-in dishwasher features the PowerWave™ Spray Arm that gets dishes clean from every direction with sequential jets that sweep dishes from not just one but two sides for 80% more coverage.* Plus, no one cleans and dries better,** thanks to the energy-efficient Ultra Wash® HE Wash System and TurboHeat Dry™.  Our new drying innovation dries your dishes in two ways. In addition to the heating element, it delivers extra drying power with a fan tucked inside the door that draws moisture and warm air out of your dishwasher. Plus, the Time Remaining Display provides you with valuable information about cycle status, as well as the amount of time left in your cycle.

*Compared to a traditional lower spray arm (based on 468 to 854 sq cm).
**Models 1320 and 1349: Against leading brands with stainless steel tub.

  • Exclusive TurboZone™ with rotating spray jets power cleans baked-on, caked-on messes from dishes placed in the back of the lower rack
  • This dishwasher operates at just 50 dBA, so you can chit chat without interruption
  • Stainless steel tub helps reduce food stains and retain heat to improve drying performance
  • Premium, Adjustable Upper Rack allows you to lift and lower with ease to accommodate large or odd-shaped dishes and avoid hand washing

Overall
dishwasher is great

My husband and I purchased this dishwasher and are very happy with the device itself. We had a few hiccups along the way, however that I think are important to mention. We'd received a Sears gift card for Christmas that we'd intended to use for this purchase. While shopping, we also learned that there was a promotion, giving us an additional percentage off if we used our Sears card. This promotion saved us $105 off of the dishwasher. Our plan was to utilize the $200 gift card and put the balance (over $700) on our Sears card. Apparently, because we took advantage of the promotion, we could not use the gift card at all. This was very disappointing and hard to understand, since a gift card is essentially cash. Secondly, our sales rep (Dave) was very knowledgeable and I have nothing bad to say about him. He had enough experience to ask us what kind of countertop we had (we have granite) and explained that this limited the kind of dishwashers we could purchase, due to the installation requirements. The only thing I would want to share with the sales reps as an additional question to ask potential customers is where the dishwasher is located. We selected a dishwasher with a handle, but discovered upon installation that because our dishwasher is located in a corner, the handle sticks out, preventing us from opening a perpendicular drawer without rubbing on the handle. After our purchase, when I got home, I suspected this might be an issue, so I took some measurements and returned to the store to measure the unit we purchased. Another sales rep helped me that day and when I asked him whether 24" was the standard depth for all units, he said it was. This being the case, I figured that we would be OK, based on my measurements. What I discovered from the technicians who came to install our unit is that stainless steel tubs are actually 24.5" deep - which was .5" too large. We opted to keep the washer and my husband intends to shave a bit off of the drawer face so that it clears the handle. Not a terribly big deal, but it's a hassle that I feel could have been prevented had the sales rep asked us about our dishwasher placement or known that stainless steel tubs were 24.5" deep. Had we known this from the beginning, we would have selected a model without a handle - avoiding the anxiety and stress re: how to proceed when the installers were there in our home, waiting for us to decide what we wanted to do.
