Purchased this dishwasher to replace an old one in a rental property. Packaging was good and there were no surprises during installation. Noise is about average. Since it has only been a couple of weeks I can't comment on reliability.
This is your normal middle of the road dishwasher. We weren't out to purchase the most expensive one on the market, but also didn't want the cheapest either. We have been happy with it. It works very well for a couple whose children have grown up and moved out.
This dishwasher has been awesome!!! I love the little racks for the forks n spoons. It is pretty quiet while it is running. Leaves all my dishes spotless !!! I would highly recommend this dishwasher!!!!
Purchased for my mother in law, this is a very nice dishwasher. Not too fancy or difficult for her to operate. This dishwasher replaces an older Kenmore. It looks great!
I bought and installed this dishwasher about 10 days ago. I did a lot of research online at this price point, this model seemed to be the best rated. Special Sears pricing brought it down to $213. In the last 25 years I've had three Gee Eee dishwashers. I kept buying them because they offered big recall checks due to a problem with fires. I never had any fires but they were all cheap dishwashers with very mediocre build quality. The last one lasted 5 years. So I was happy to try out a Kenmore (made by Whirlpool). Both Whirlpool and Kenmore are rated highly by a leading consumer's magazine. A recent issue rated about 20 dishwashers - but all were priced around $1000. I only wanted to pay around $200 to $250. I'm a fairly technically savvy guy, having worked at a technical school for 35 years. After looking at all the models at my local Sears store, it was apparent to me that the "bottom end" of most all the washers was identical - meaning most of the critical hardware. Of course, that wouldn't include the programming circuitry, because as far as I could tell, that was the major difference - the more expensive models have more gadgetry, optional cycles, and other convenience features. Seriously, all I really want to do is throw my dishes into the dishwasher, push a button, and let it do its job.Yes, we do rinse and hit them with a quick swipe of the brush, but I'd rather do that than have to use a razor blade to scrape off baked-on bits of food - or worse - spend $1000 - $2000 on a dishwasher that has a 50% greater chance of things going wrong. Well - on to this model. We love it! First of all, you can see right off that its built well - good materials and solidly built. The racks open and close very smoothly and are durable looking. There's a lot of nice features, very thoughtfully designed. I won't repeat what is already included in the description. I actually like its simplicity. We tried the 1 hour wash and it cleaned the dishes perfectly! So have the other 2 cycles. And it is quiet, in spite of what other reviewers have reported. I feel like Kenmore (Whirlpool) have set a standard - not to sell junk for a fast buck - instead giving you quality and value at an economical price point. I installed it myself without any problem. Note: You have the option of using either a copper or braided hose water inlet pipe. If you read the fine print, they recommend changing the braided pipe (rubber wound with stainless braid) every five years. I opted to use my old copper pipe (no brainer?). And did I say it looks good too? Oh yeah - about the "wet" dishes - we just crack the door open after its done at night, and Wallah! - they're dry the next morning - no problemo!
Overall, we love our new dishwasher! The price was reasonable for the product. The dishwasher is quiet and works great. The only thing I would change is that the silverware holder takes up a lot of room on the bottom rack and our last dishwasher the racks were on the door to allow more space.
