Easy to install, unless you're in an older house. Not Kenmore's fault my house was built by cavemen. Works great, nice look, great price.
This is the perfect dishwasher for my wife. She loves it. She didn't want all the bells and whistles and the price that comes with it. It was on sale at a great price and has only the options of settings that she will really use. It is so quiet that she has to get up close to it to hear it running. The length of the wash cycle is about one hour and forty-five minutes which is fine with her. It also has a one hour wash cycle if she needs the dishes inside. Very happy wife.

At first my new Kenmore dishwasher left my dishes coated with a thin pale film. After other remedies failed, I flushed out the rinse-aid chamber with lots of plain water. The film went away and my dishes are rinsing clean. After much experimentation, I find the washer works best using a gel detergent (not powders or packets) and a rinse-aid chamber full of plain water. The writers of the user's manual recommend the very opposite--packets and rinse aid. I find the manual's recommendations regarding a number of issues to be counterproductive; it's as if the writers of the manual never used the washer. Despite the manual's shortcomings and the washer's idiosyncrasies, I would recommend this washer to anyone who needs an affordable quiet dishwasher that does a good job with light loads.
We are very pleased with this dishwasher. It is quiet and cleans the dishes well. We were in desperate need of a dishwasher quick, so the local Sears thankfully had it in stock.
We hadn't been very happy with our Kenmore Elite appliances. The dishwasher has had various problems. It died last month when it started on fire (see http://kitchenaidfire.com/) and the is no support for this. Sears service misled us. Too many problems with our Kenmore appliances, but it looks like it is time to shop elsewhere.

The area under the dishwasher where the conduit and the drain and the water line can go is more limited and less height under the dishwasher (the pump hangs down in a large part of the area where you'd like to run the connections), so this was really tough to install where I removed the older dishwasher. For that alone, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you have a brand new installation with flexibility to run that stuff from the sides. Of course, you can't figure out if the compression fitting is tight enough before you connect everything else, and to tighten it after everything else is connected is excruciating. I can't tell you how much foul language I had to use to get this connected. Exhausting. (And I'm pretty handy for an old lady DIY type, got all the tools and lots of experience.) It's got all the basics, but where my old D/W was a nice stainless shell, this one is plastic. I guess it's cheaper to ship from china. Sigh. Even the more expensive ones are all plastic now. Wish I coulda fixed the old one! Don't buy this unless you are very patient and experienced, OK? Haven't used it yet, but unless it's just wretched, I'm certainly not removing it!
