A basic no frills dishwasher that does the job.
I've read a few reviews about this dishwasher before I bought it. Even thought we could afford a more expensive dishwasher with all the bells and whistles, at the end of the day we asked the question, what do we need this dishwasher to do? Do we need it to walk the dog, take out the trash and sweep the floor? No, we just need it to wash the dishes we load up and that's about it. Do we need it to wash our most expensive dish and silverware and pots and pans. No, because we will always wash those by hands. We need to load the daily dishes, walk away, and forget about it until we come back to unload it. Now, if there was a dishwasher that unloaded itself and restock the dishes, well, that would be a no-brainer. I have washed my dishwasher safe pot and pans in it just fine. This is a dishwasher that washes dishes, period. It's basic. The racks are basic and holds breakfast and dinner dishes (including glassware) for four people nicely. Anything more than that then I would need a second load cycle. No problem, I've done it before. We have stainless steel appliances and while its not the 'prettiest' stainless steel appliance in the kitchen, it fits nicely under the cabinetry without drawing too much attention to itself. If anyone walked into my home and complained that my dishwasher wasn't as pretty as my fridge or stove, then I don't think that's a person I would want to have back in my kitchen. I've read in many reviews that the dishwasher is noisy. We have an open floor plan and the dishwasher is literally 27 feet away from the television. I've never had to turn the television up because the dishwasher is going and is to noisy. In fact, I'm watching television now and the dishwasher is going. I can barely hear it. To be honestly, I wouldn't hear it at all if I wasn't thinking about it. My dishwasher is under the cabinetry with a solid thick piece of granite counter-top and that may be a buffer for the sound. However, I do not experience a noise problem with this dishwasher. I'm writing this review after one month of ownership. I'll return in 6 months (if I remember) to give a follow-up.

Kenmore 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Item #02215114000P Model #15114
I purchased this item April 2014 and immediately notice the strange starting process. After filling with hot water (I make sure) it will cycle for 30-seconds, stop and immediately cycle for 30-seconds another three times, stopping and starting immediately and after the third cycle it is idle for 30-seconds. It then begins another three 30-second cycles stopping and starting immediately after the first two and when the third begins it continues the wash cycle unabated. I for one would not consider these supposedly unnecessary starts and stops being proper simply because of the ware and tare on the electrical parts. Every time a serge of electricity is sent to a motor or the power is terminated it simply cannot be a good thing. I think there is something seriously wrong with the information the memory module was programmed with and just how critical this is to the appliance's longevity overall is any-body's guess. I seriously doubt whether reporting this under warranty would be worthwhile so will wait another few months to see what happens with the motor.

Dishwasher

What can a person say about a dishwasher especially one that works!!! It is neat and efficient. Fits under our counter top and looks nice.So simple that a 10 year old can figure out how to start .. Now if only she can figure out how to load and unload!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good Value for a Basic Dishwasher

This is a no frills basic dishwasher. I've done expensive, I've done fancy, those dishwashers failed miserably so I just decided to find a good quality basic machine an this is it. Very pleased.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
