Like it!
Purchased the same one in white a few years ago (then it was a Kenmore Elite Trio). Loved it. Remodeled so researched to find the same in SS. This is an exact match, except it is no longer considered an Elite (no ice maker on the door). We don't like the ice makers on the door; takes up inside door space. Filtered water is inside the frig. Never had a problem with the other one; expecting the same with this. The delivery guys were great too!

The Compressor Runs Constantly - Is This Really Energy Efficent?
We purchased this refrigerator over 30 days ago. Love the way it looks and how it fits in the kitchen perfectly. There is plenty of room inside the refrigerator and freezer for us. We have not had any issues with temperature changes or freezer frost. The only problem is the compressor runs constantly. The compressor starts on an average of every 20 minutes, and runs for 5 minutes. In some cases, the compressor runs for 5 minutes, shuts off, and in 10 seconds, begins to run again! And the none of the doors/drawers have been opened! This cannot be energy efficient! Has anyone else had this issue? This could be a manufacturer defect where the compressor was not properly charged at the factory. Its reasonable for the fan to run regularly for air circulation, however not the compressor. We will be in contact with Sears and hope they will stand behind their product, especially the Kenmore appliances. We are asking for appropriate repairs or replacement or another name brand.

Super choice for an excellent fridge and freezer combo

Have researched almost one year before selecting this fridge. Came close several times to pulling the pin with a Samsung or LG. Followede Consumer Reports and numerous other sites and finally settled on this model. An excellent and wise choice. The final straw was the 18 month free financing offered by Sears. Made it the best choice from all other brands with the support of the company backing it up.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Do not purchase! Known problem with frozen drain!

We purchased this refrigerator 15 months ago. This week we noticed puddles of water on the floor in front of the fridge. Upon investigation we noticed a large ice sheet on the bottom of the freezer. We cleared it yesterday and the ice sheet is already reforming. Upon googling it, this is a very common problem... and of course it is off warranty now. $300 repair or a convoluted process to unfreeze your drain every 6 months. Do not purchase this refrigerator!!!!!!!

Quiet, but not reliable and doors don't shut easily.

I regret buying this fridge. Every day, someone in my house does not shut the door or freezer drawer all the way. Luckily it beeps, but it is annoying to be awakened late at night with the beep after someone gets a late snack. Also, this is terribly inefficient since the doors are open a while before the beep. I had the unit professionally installed, we tilted it back further to try to help the doors close, still it is a challenge. In addition to this, I had the same problem another reviewer mentioned where ice started collecting in the bottom of the freezer, which eventually leaked out and caused a slight warp in our new hardwood floors. The fridge was less than a year old. I had to call in warranty service, there was a frozen line in the back and the repairman said it was likely to happen again and I should buy an extended warranty. Great. On the positive side, the fridge is very quiet, roomy and I like how the storage is laid out. It is very clear and well lit inside so that you can see everything. I miss my old basic top freezer Kenmore fridge that I had for 10 years with no problems. I would not recommend this fridge.

Problems

The fridge collects ice on the bottom of the freezer and leaks all over our floor. The door doesn't close all the way. We had to pay almost $300 to have it repaired right after the warranty expired. Stay away.

Love this refrigerator!

I bought this refrigerator after really scrutinizing the reviews and comparing it with similar refrigerators by different manufacturers, and another "home improvement" store. The local Sears store had one of these in stock, so I went in to "kick the tires". I guess I'm either a careful shopper, or just a tough customer.. It really paid off because I picked a really good refrigerator. It was delivered two days ago, the same day I bought it. I don't normally follow-up purchases by writing a review, but decided I would this time, as previous reviews I read, helped me make a very wise decision to buy this Kenmore Product! So far, there is nothing I DON'T like about it; quite the reverse is true". The only thing, so far, that I would ask Sears to do (to improve on it) is; lower the price of replacement water filters. As in all water filters, they are costly - $49.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

So far, we are happy with this product...

We had a Kenmore 12 year old 18.8 cubic foot freezer top model which worked fine, but noticed that if we had party's, there was little space for food storage, before and after. We decided to get a slightly bigger model, and one with the freezer on the bottom, as we accessed that compartment less frequently, and were down on the floor reaching for things on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator more often than we cared to. We are definitely happy with the bigger space (the large full size cheese drawer is great and can even fit a full sheet cake). The only flip that is inconvenient is having the ice maker down the bottom, so that's what we are bending for now, though not as frequently as we were bending for milk, juice, etc. The humidity control worked great; didn't notice the ice accelerator actually made ice faster, but perhaps it wasn't up to its standard temperature when we used the feature on its second day. The best part of all of this is the filtered water feature. We specifically chose the interior water dispenser, as the exterior dispenser took up too much door storage space for our needs. The Brita pitcher is gone and we've recovered some shelf space as a result! And the water comes out cold...perfect for these hot summer days. I did note that you really need to make sure the double doors close tightly...a slight push doesn't necessarily close it all the way, as it would on our previous refrigerator. There is a 'door alarm' that is supposed to sound if the door is open for more than 5 minutes, but we've not tested that. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars, as we've only had it for less than 2 weeks. So far, so good....highly recommend!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore 24.8 cu ft French-Door Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator

Great looking refrigerator, great convenience, love the bottom freezer and ice-maker. It has lots of refrigerator space, and the wide shelving gives great space for storage of large dishes. The inside water dispenser is pretty cool too.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good Value for the money

Lots of space for the money. Good interior design in refrigerator and freezer. Ice maker works great. Biggest disappointment is Stainless Steel finish. It fingerprints easily and is difficult to clean. Limited to what types of cleaners can be used; even stainless steel cleaner just made it smeary. Eventually cleans up with a fair amount of rubbing and buffing.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
