Smaller size to fit in kitchen space. Stylish double door on top, with lots of room extending to sides, with icemaker in freezer which allows much more storage room. It is quiet, smooth running, and has a satifsying thump and strong suction when closing. Bells ring when the door is left open. A good buy, and satiffies all the necessary, expected operations of a moderately priced refrigerator - get the service contract, it's worth it to have SEARS stand behind their products..
I absolutely love this fridge. Wife was wanting a French door and with the limited space we have, this one was perfect. By looking at it, I would never have imagined how much you can actually fit in the freezer! Lots of space and versatility with the shelves. Definitely watch for sales, you can save hundreds! Out sales rep was excellent as well.

My old unit was 30 years old and it was so old it was on Depends as it leaked on the floor after De frosting. My dogs took it as a flavered water area and would sit in front of it for the water to flow....Good work for a Kenmore after 30 + years.......My new one is so nice and so big....and I love the alarm when the door is open...first time I thought it was my cell going off....took me 4 tries to find out it was my new Kenmore!......Thanks!
Our old Kenmore frig passed away after 23 years of heavy use. We bought this smaller refrigerator since there are only 2 of us now. I have never, ever had a problem with any Kenmore appliance; however, after reading these reviews, and technology moving so fast, I did purchase a 3 year warranty/service/parts agreement. The frig is so quiet, lots of space to adjust shelves, and an ice maker that gives us more ice then we have ever had. I personally recommend this refrigerator, and would suggest purchasing the 3 year warranty contract just for your own peace of mind.
We bought this unit because it fit our size requirements and budget (under $1500). We like the French doors and bottom freezer, slide-out shelves, freezer light, controls. When it was 5 months old the latch on one door broke, 6 months later the latch on the other door broke (latch keeps door closed while opening other door). Without warranty each repair would have been $430+ using Sears service techs. We expect the latches to break again. As the 12 month warranty was about to expire, the unit began making noise when one of the fans ran. Read online that defrosting helped the noise - it did. (We thought this was supposed to be a frost free unit.) Now a month later and out of warranty, the noise is back. (does it need monthly defrosting?) We don't trust this refrigerator, and it's only 13 months old. Consider the extended warranty if thinking about buying one. We give it 2 stars only because it hasn't spoiled any food yet, and it does seem to use less energy than our old one. But we wouldn't buy another one. A service tech said we shouldn't expect the new unit to last 20 years like our last Kenmore did.
The refrigerator has more than enough interior space. It is so nice to have items at eye level. No more aching backs from leaning down to retrieve items from the refrigerator. Only have to bend down to get into the freezer which is infrequent compared to getting into the refrigerator. Love it!
The new finish is the main reason we bought it. Blends very well with our stainless steel appliances. We love having the refrigerator on the top (don't need to bend down to get at the lower items). The doors close tightly and solidly. Sears delivery was exceptional as we didn't have any extra room to bring in this larger refrig and they did it without touching anything.

This works great. Our old one was good but didn't realize how much better they made them now as far as efficiency. Was surprized when it didn't come with any water lines for ice, but it cost $3 and the time to go get it.
