The wheels on this unit are of extremely poor quality. They are not sufficient to handle the weight of this unit, which is an LG product. My old Kenmore moved seamlessly. The first time this unit was moved away from the wall, the wheels gouged the floor.
The tray in the icemaker likely came from the dollar store. One flimsy plactice ice cube tray exists in the unit. When the ice is ready the arm flips the plastic tray over into the bucket. I suspect this won't last very long. It is also very noisy.
Overall I am so dissatisfied with this product that I will not buy Kenmore again. I have always used Kenmore products but will abandon them now. Furthermore, 8 months later and Sears service department has yet to come replace or otherwise be able to fix the wheels.

Will have to get used to the freezer on the bottom, but really enjoying the spacious refrigerator at a great height.

I puchased this 22.4 cu ft model in Feb 2013, so I have used it for 1 month. I love this model of the bottom SWING-OUT freezer door rather than the freezer drawer. The swing-out door is the only way to go. I knew I would really like this frig so this letter will only contain the things I did NOT like. Many of you complained of the temperature controls being located in the FRONT of the frig compartment. You are correct, this is a major bad design. The controls being upfront will naturally block valuable shelf space. Temp.controls should be mounted in the BACK of the top shelf. Many of you wrote that you thought the frig was nice & QUIET. 1 did not. Actually, it's both. It is quiet sometimes when the fan is running low but when the fan runs higher, the frig emits a slightly high-pitched tone that slightly annoying. Like a phone being off the hodk. I'm hoping I get used to it, but it is bothersome. New ice maker needs a month of tossed-out cubes - maybe even more.

After installation the refrigerator made a noticeable whining sound that you could hear all over the apartment. I called to have this fixed. They sent someone over and he said that this noise was normal. You have to live with it. The reader reviews show others have had the same noise problem, but not the majority. This indicates that the noise is a defect on a minority of units and Sears will not fix or replace the defective ones. Sears will take the refrig back for a pick up charge of $69 for me and a forfeiture of the $69 delivery charge. There may be other penalties. A $138 loss is a sure thing for me. There is also a problem with opening it. The suction or whatever gets so strong sometimes that you really have to pull to get the door open. I question if a child or small person can even get it open. If you buy this you may have to play a radio all the time or wear ear plugs or headphones unless you are deaf.

After only 15 months it sounds like an airplane is in my house! My last fridge was 20 years old and never sounded like this! I can't even hear myself think it is so loud!

I just got this Fridge today and I love it for many reasons. Well designed, lots of functional space. Having the fridge on top is the best,no more bending down and searching. Everything is at eye level. The door shelves are adjustable and fun to configure when placing several different sized containers there. Having the freezer on bottom is another big plus- so much easier than on top. No more food flying out of freezer, when you least expect it. The fridge is practically silent. What a pleasure! The service men were polite and very efficient. Also like the separate temperature monitors for both the freezer and fridge. It is much better looking in real life than in the online images. I like one door better than the 2 French doors- why open 2 when you can do it with 1! Spacious!

My husband and I would like to remodel the kitchen in several years. Unfortunately, our old refrigerator wasn't able to make it that long! I wanted a fridge that wouldn't cost a lot, and would fit into the smaller space provided in our kitchen. I also wanted a refrigerator that had a bottom freezer. The majority of our time is spent looking in the refrigerator, so I wanted easy access to it. This fridge will be our "basement" refrigerator when we remodel. That's why I chose Kenmore: it's reliable. Every Kenmore appliance we've ever bought has more than exceeded our expectations.
