This kenmore replaced my 15 year old kenmore. Alot more space than my 21 cubic foot.Only had it for a week now, so far only complaint is runs very loud. My kitchen is opened to living room area so we hear it well. My husband says it sounds like a plane taking off. I thought the newer models would have been quieter than my old model. Can't say i wasn't warned by other reviewers. It was on sale for a good price, if you don't mind the noise.
The only issue I have with this is that the door handle keeps coming off. I've never seen a fridge before with a handle that wasn't screwed on. This one just slides onto 2 bolts. After awhile, the handle tends to slide up & come off. You then need to line it back up & slide it back on. Real pain to keep doing this. Other than that, it works fine. Don't know what all the fuss about noise is, mine is very quiet. It's not the best quality inside but the higher end models I looked at weren't much better. For the price, this does the job for me.
I downsized and I can't believe that 3 cubic ft. can make such a difference! But overall, no complaints with the cooling. There is an annoying high frequency whine sometimes, but I've gotten use to that. In spite of its size, I like it!
LOVE the size, depth, layout. HATE that freezer would not defrost properly and repairman suggested immediate replacement - after 2 weeks. Replacement unit took 6 months to show same problem - 3 visits from Sears repairmen and still no resolution..............
I have bought a zillion Kenmore appliances, as I'm a landlord. This is the first time I've written a negative review. This fridge is simply poorly made. The shelves aren't strong enough so the shelf in the middle, with the drawer, sags. The wire freezer drawer doesn't slide in & out easily, and the freezer door often doesn't close & seal tightly. The freezer is also not well designed. It's a poor quality unit. I would exchange it for a different model if I could.

We bought this refrigerator for the bottom freezer that opens like a door. We love it. We were concerned about some of the bad reviews; however, we have not experienced any of the stated problems. We would recommend this refrigerator.
I do not know what people were talking about the loud noise as our frig is not loud plus some people mentioned the beeping sound when you have the door open. They must all have very sensitive ears. Unreal!!! You get what you pay for and this is an excellent frig for the price.

I puchased this 22.4 cu ft model in Feb 2013, so I have used it for 1 month. I love this model of the bottom SWING-OUT freezer door rather than the freezer drawer. The swing-out door is the only way to go. I knew I would really like this frig so this letter will only contain the things I did NOT like. Many of you complained of the temperature controls being located in the FRONT of the frig compartment. You are correct, this is a major bad design. The controls being upfront will naturally block valuable shelf space. Temp.controls should be mounted in the BACK of the top shelf. Many of you wrote that you thought the frig was nice & QUIET. 1 did not. Actually, it's both. It is quiet sometimes when the fan is running low but when the fan runs higher, the frig emits a slightly high-pitched tone that slightly annoying. Like a phone being off the hodk. I'm hoping I get used to it, but it is bothersome. New ice maker needs a month of tossed-out cubes - maybe even more.
