We're getting used to having the freezing compartment on the bottom. It is laid out differently (obviously) from our older model but we're getting used to it. The shelves are adjustable, but don't have as much storage space as the straight-across shelves we are accustomed to.
"Great Fridge" We have had this fridge a little over a month,"Love" it! This fridge replaced a similar LG that lasted only 7 years. A word to the wise, find what you want but buy the purchase protection plan, either plan, cover yourself! Several people write that they don't make them like they used to well they don't and never will. We have a chest freezer that is 36 years old, works as good as the day we bought it but I'm also quite sure this will never happen again. We bought through our home town Sears store, they ordered it for us, "Great People" My wife and I worked in appliance manufacture for 33 and 38 years we know what to look for as far as defects. This fridge has perfect fit and finish from top to bottom and inside out. We bought this on sale and purchased the 3 year protection plan and still saved a lot from retail price. We were lucky as we had a older fridge that we kept as a spare in the garage and waited till this one came on sale. Do your home work when buying it doesn't matter if the fridge costs $300 or $3000 dollars you will notice the manufacturers warranty in almost all cases is 1 year. The protection plan will cover things that the warranty won't and do it for years. You'll also notice that the protection plans cost is related to the cost of the unit your looking at. The more bells and whistles the more the plan is going to cost another reason we went basic this time. I would recommend this fridge to anybody. My wife and I have health issues and the top fridge, bottom freezer is great for us.Do yourself a favor on any appliance, cover yourself as almost all are limited to only 1 year on the warranty!
First off I was told this would be delivered by 5pm on a particular day, at 6 pm that evening I got a call they were not coming until the following day. It was summer all my food was taken out, I had to have someone stay at my house for delivery. They did me gift card (for Sears) for loss of groceries. I was suppose to get it interest free for so many months, that didn't happen either. When delivered my fianc?e was home and when I walked in to find see my new fridge with a large dent and scratch across the freezer part. So I called they came to replace the entire unit. Instead they just replaced the door. Which was fine, at that time. Like someone else stated once out of warranty my freezer started making horrible noises and back of freezer filled with ice, then the fridge went warm. I went through trouble shooting. Took all food out and cleaned and defrosted it. Having to play around with unplugging it and hoping it gets cold and stays that way. Now I am living a nightmare of not having a fridge that stays cold. Lights go out, then are on and fridge is still not working. Needless to say I now have to shop daily, can't have certain items for fear they will spoil. I will never get another appliance from Sears. Did I get the extended warranty no. Should I have no. Why because a fridge should last for more than a few years. At least they did years ago. This fridge was everything I wanted for size, bottom freezer with door (not drawer) price was great, as well as reviews. Now I see recent reviews that are not so good. Very roomy, drawers movable. Currently I can't afford a new one, so am looking for cheap used fridge that will actually keep milk, butter and meat cold like a normal fridge. Very disappointed, as I redid my kitchen and don't have a working fridge.
This replaces a similar model that I have used for 13 years with absolutely no problems whatsoever. It is a low-end model, no frills, but I do wish the new version came with split refrigerator shelves like the old one did.
With the freezer on the bottom, this is the ideal refrigerator for my mother in law. She has been wanting this type of refrigerator. The size is perfect. With sale pricing we could not be happier.
Bought this for a small kitchen. The light switch burned out after a year. Had to buy a replacement switch and fix myself to avoid $120 service charge from Sears repair. The lights and controls are in the way so you can't putt to many tall things on top shelf (or door shelves) and it makes grinding noises. I don't know why. Seems like Sears doesn't make stuff to last anymore.
this new refrigerator is energy efficient and yet very roomy. I have been filling it up with Thanksgiving foods since it was delivered, and still have lots of space. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
