I believe that I was gouged on the installation which cost almost as much as the unit; existing window and electrical all they had to do was cut a piece of plywood and caulk it.
The unit is only good on low, the energy save feature sucks, and the directional louvres suck.
Not happy. Sorry I spent the money. Sears service was useless when it came to making me a happy customer. Never again!

not as powerful as the old one it replaced I guess because of the different refrigerant seems to run more to keep cool . also feel that the price could have been a little cheaper,or at least on a bigger sale.

The air conditioner broke within several months. They replaced it, but how long will the new one last. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Naturally during one of the hottest days of one of the hottest summers on record in the midwest is the time for the A/C to fail. Buying a Sears Product was the best solution for the situation. The tenant was anxious to have some relief. Installation was somewhat confusing since the instructions covered 2 or 3 models but within an hour the failed unit was replaced with a quiet cooling machine. Very happy with the purchase and good folks to deal with.

I purchased this unit to replace a 14-year old AirTemp unit in a 625 sq. foot addition on my home. The addition was built in '72 and has HUGE windows and is a huge energy monster. I had my personal handyman install it on 6/28/12. I am very pleased so far. The only cons I have at this time are 1) it is heavy and takes 2 people or a really strong guy to install 2) Controls are a little vague - make sure you read the instructions 3) Air flow vents don't seem to move around very much 4) I have a little rattle when it is on -I am sure this is just a little rattle due to our installation - I don't mind the general sound of an A/C. The pros 1) My addition is cool in this oppresive Houston heat and humidity 2) I LOVE the EnergySaver feature that cycles the unit on an off - I'll have to see what my electric bill is. All in all, this was much less expensive than my 1998 AirTemp A/C Heat unit (I dont' really need a heater down here) and I am very pleased with the available functions on this unit.

I recently purchased this item and am very pleased with it's performance. I use this unit to cool off multiple rooms on the first floor of my home and it has done quite a job. It is also very quiet compared to my old air conditioner. Everything from the sales person to the installation team went very well and professionally. Recommended. A++

Right before we left for vacation summer of 2011 our window unit quit on us and we took it in to be repaired. When we got back from vacation, the repair man still hadn't looked at our a/c so we purchased this and the Kenmore 10,000 unit to get us by while ours was in the shop. I am a stay-at-home mother of 2 at the time and it was the end of July in Kansas. (The hottest time of year) With 2 small children, we had to do something quick. This was a great investment and worked wonderfully for us for the rest of summer. This particular unit had a remote with a sensor in it that could sense the temperature across the room and therefore actually worked better at keeping the whole room cool. I would get a Kenmore again if needed.
