Perfect fridge for my garage!
I purchased this even after reading all of the negative reviews. I think some of them are unwarranted and will address some of them. This fridge is in my garage as an extra for groceries for my large family. Have had it for a couple of months now so thought I'd post review. I love that it's freezerless for more fridge storage since I have a large chest freezer right next to it. To address some of the complaints: Yes, it runs louder than your average fridge and is warm to the touch on the outside. The manual explains both. I like that it is specifically made for a garage with the automatic freeze control feature. Yes, the racks inside the door "seem" flimsy as they are very flexible. They do give when something scoots against them but being flexible means they're less likely to break! I have mine loaded with some heavy items and they haven't failed me yet! Wire shelves mean mess falls to bottom for easy clean. Haven't had any problems with things tipping over. Love it!

the date this was built is 06/2010 now its jan 2014 and the compressor has died. I only use this to store the stuff we can. so the door hardly get opened, its set on a higher setting becuase we dont have to keep opening it. Kenmore use to last...and counted for something, Now sears wont stand behind their product..... you roll the dice on this refrigerator.

REFRIGERATOR ONLY

WE loved the idea of the refrigerator only! The reviews were not the best on any model we looked at so we bought the service agreement as an insurance policy even though we normally don't. So far it's working great as a second frig in our basement.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

New freezerless refrigerator

We bought the original one in 2002 and when it "died" we bought another one. Great for parties and extra items that need refrigeration.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

just what we wanted!

I was looking for a freezerless refrigerator for overflow. My refrigerator is always so full. This new Kenmore freezerless refrigerator is just what I was looking for. It is amazing how fast we filled it up. There is plenty of room in it for all the extra stuff that does not fit in my regular frig. And lots of room for drinks now that the summer is here and we ant to keep them cold! Delivery was quick and easy. I am very happy that I went ahead with the purchase of this extra frig.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Failed....

Bought one of these several years ago. Thought so much of it the in-laws bought one. After three years the compressor on both failed. Sears said the compressor was under warranty but not the labor and other parts, then tried to push an extended warranty. Avoid this one like the plague.

Buy extended warranty or else

I have the stainless version of this Kenmore. Looked fantastic beside the freezer, however after only 13 months the unit crapped out (2 sensors failed and caused the compressor to constantly run rendering it useless after it blew. Called Sears and their reply was basically Too Bad you should have bought the extended warranty. Sears does NOT stand behind their products! Beware. Well, for the sake of keeping the appliances the same I purchased the elite model (with 2 year warranty) and purchased the 5 yr extended. I guarantee at the first lapse in function this extended warranty ruse by Sears will be taken advantage of. Frigidaire/Electrolux manufacture the Kenmore/Elite models. The new fridge interior now has LED lighting. Very bright and classy with a dimming effect. Too bad the quality of the electronics does not match the visual and massive space potential of these units.

Should Have Lasted Longer

It's 6 years old and it's going to recycling. Based on the initial cost, that's about $100 per year. It worked well and then stopped cooling. Service and repair costs were going to be around $300, half of what it cost originally. On the door, the shelf guards are extremely flimsy. Anything taller than a soda can may topple over - don't put any glass bottles on the door shelves.

KAPUT after only 5 years!

Bought similar (Kenmore freezerless fridge) five years ago and it is already good for scrap!!! For no reason whatsoever, the compressor died yesterday and cost of repair is almost the same as a new fridge!!! Would never buy again!

Love it

We needed an extra refrigerator but didn't need any more freezer space. This fit the bill perfectly and we've been very happy with it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
