This Kenmore upright freezer 2873 helps keep your food organized and fresh. Its vertical design features four shelves, in-door storage and a slide-out basket. An enhanced air baffle helps to ensure proper air flow, and it quickly and efficiently freezes up to 585 pounds of food like steaks, frozen dinners and ice cream, while preserving their freshness for as long as possible. It's frost-free, so you won't need to defrost manually. The Kenmore 2873 gives you the room you need to organize bulk buys and keep your food fresh and easy to find.

  • A spacious interior means better organization, easier access and more storage options, which makes this freezer perfect for pizzas, ice cream, fish, meats and bulk buys.
  • Slide-out baskets keep smaller, daily necessities within reach to simplify storage and make moving easy when it’s time to reach deep.
  • Enhanced air flow design channels cold air, around, over and across your freezer’s contents for superior refrigeration, balanced performance and consistently frozen foods.
  • Bright interior lighting provides clear visibility that helps you find food, ingredients, treats and more quickly.
  • Designed to prevent thick ice, frost-free freezers eliminate the hassle of having to hack at, chip away and defrost icy build-up while still delivering cold you can count on.

Wonderful freezer ...
Our new freezer is great. Love the lighted interior, shelf spacing and door wide shelves without dividers. Also, very quiet ! Delivery was very efficient.

Very Disappointing Quality Control and Design
I (no Sears affiliation) am compelled to write this review because of what I consider to be serious quality control and design flaws in my recent purchase of this upright freezer. My faithful and dependable 10+ year old Kenmore upright freezer was on its last legs where it would go into meltdown mode or not run at all causing water to collect on the inside patio floor. Since it had served me so well over the years, I decided to purchase this similar but slightly larger model. Big mistake! After initial delivery, hookup and installation, I was looking under the freezer to see what kind of leveling options were available since the freezer comes only with 2 front but no back leveling leg stands. To my surprise, I could see different colored electrical wires touching the patio floor! Even with my basic science knowledge, I knew electricity and water together could pose a very dangerous situation especially if the electrical wires became frayed/exposed and the freezer started leaking water like my old freezer did over time. Who knows when this would have possibly happened. I was just fortunate to be looking under the freezer for a nonrelated matter. After much cajoling/coercing the Sears service center customer representative, my initial service appointment was rescheduled from a couple of weeks to a little less than a week only after I brought up the potential risk issue. I am not sure about the knowledge and experience of the service technician who came for the follow up appointment, but he did state that the electrical wires were not installed/inserted into what appeared to be a plastic guide anchor located under the freezer. However, the electrical wires would not stay inserted in the guide anchor because of the tension in the electrical wires caused by trying to correctly reroute them away from some extremely hot parts and copper wiring. He was able to somewhat secure the electrical wires to the guide anchor with a plastic zip tie that I provided. After several weeks of using the new freezer, I noticed what I considered as a possible design flaw. The freezer has 5 small shelves located on the inside of the door itself each with a flexible product support/restrainer piece (stops product from falling off the shelf). However, the pieces are so flexible that it does not take much for thin products to fall from the shelf between the piece and shelf bottom (especially the middle portion of the shelf). The product weight itself leaning against the piece is enough to cause the piece to flex and make a larger opening for the product to fall through. Although the buying and service experience was very good, my negative quality control and design experience would make me think twice before I purchase this product brand again.

Kenmore 16.6 cu.ft. Upright Freezer

Excellent so far. Our sales associate was extremely helpful while we were trying to select the right product and gave us her card so we could reach her in case of any questions or issues. Delivery was exactly as she set it up. We received a call the day before and a call 30 minutes before they arrived. The delivery could not have been easier. The old freezer was removed. The new one was installed, and they cleaned up extremely well. The delivery team was very courteous and showed me all the features of the new freezer, plus gave me advice on the correct settings. If I have any negative at all, it is that this unit is a little noisier than I thought, but it is not a problem. We are very pleased.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Quiet, works GREAT

Even after reading the reviews I decided to go with this freezer. Unlike some others my freezer is very quiet. Does NOT run all the time, is not hot on the outside. I have had it a month and it works wonderfully!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
