I bought this product and I was a little disappointed. They are beautiful but, when cooking in them they leave shadows of what was cooked. When I got them, I read the manual and it said to wash them in warm, soapy water with vinegar to get the factory oils out of them. I did that. I cooked with them and it left like a shadow, not sure how to discribe it on the bottom of the pots. I will continue to use them in hopes that the problem solves itself, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I really like the feel of these pans, They are solid, but not too heavy. The only problem I have is when cooking on an induction cooktop, they never quite get up to temp. For instance, when boiling water, no matter how high I turn up the temperature, water will never boil, I think the pot is prohibiting enough energy to flow through. I can throw any of my other older induction capable pots on the cooktop and it boils no problem, so I know its not the cooktop. I mainly have this problem with the pots. The fry pans seem to be ok, and I can get those hot enough to cook with, still a bit below what my other pans will do, but at least I can use them.
First off, those folks saying that 'everything sticks' is trying to use stainless steal pans as if they are non-stick pans...which they are not. Cooking on stainless steal is a learning process for sure and I hope they've got the hang of it. (lower your stove temps folks, you should cook next-to-nothing on high) I also did the vinegar bath as recommended.... These pans are AWESOME. Very even cooking. I've used them on both electric and gas stove tops and have been very satisfied (especially on the gas). They heat up very quickly, stay hot for a long time, and maintain an even temperature across the bottom of the pan. The stew pots with the strainers making steaming a breeze and also are a lot safer to boil pasta in (no more dumping boiling hot water all over the place). As the product states, pouring from these pots/pans is very clean and easy. For the inevitable scorch mark (hey, they do get HOT) I recommended periodically taking "Bar Keeper's Friend' to them with a little elbow grease. I promise they will come out looking good-as-new.
This is my first set of a stainless set and i must say im very impressed. Food tastes so much better as opposed to teflon pans. They stain pretty easy, but after a little elbow grease during the wash they do come out pretty clean. very satisfied with the quality and durability of this set.

I was excited to purchase this new cookware and have used it several times in the last week since I bought it and it has outdone my expectations! I read the care and instructions book that came with it and it noted something I didn't know about the use of vinegar. It says before use, wash in warm soapy water with 1 cup vinegar to take off the factory oils to avoid discoloration and difficulty cleaning later on. I must say, something worked because I haven't had anything stick or scorch in these pans and cleanup is a breeze. Very top notch stuff. I almost spent $230 on 1 pan similar to this and so glad i didn't especially when I can get the same results with far less money. Reading the Instructions does wonders....
This cookware is not 'nonstick'. It is stainless steel and and a good stainless steel set at that. I have had this set for over a year now and it has earned my respect. I am a chef in my professional life and find it a joy to come home and use this when I cook dinner.
For the price of this set I might as well have just bought some cheap stuff for alot less & got the same results.Food sticks no matter what you use to try to prevent it from doing so,then alot of soaking time just to clean them.I expected better quality from Kenmore.Don't waste your money when there are much better products out there.
I have reviewed an older set of Kenmore. I am assuming this is the same set, just a different look. I don't have this actual set, but my set has the same number of pieces, just a different design. That was before they put silicone handles on the lids. I guess Kenmore took my advice because that was the only con I had for the cookware back then. I have been using my Kenmore stainless for about 4 years now and it is still gleaming like brand new. I can cook over-easy eggs with very little oil and without sticking worthy of a magazine cover. The trick is to heat up the pan first before you put the oil. Keep trying until you get the right amount of heat you need before you put the oil. Too hot and you will burn your eggs. Too cool and the eggs and everything else will stick. I use Bar Keeper's Friend powder cleanser to keep it gleaming like new. You listened to me once when I suggested the silicone handles on the lids, please listen to me again, DO NOT discontinue this product! I Love it!
