- Enhanced air flow design channels cold air, around, over and across your freezer’s contents for superior refrigeration, balanced performance and consistently frozen foods.

This freezer was purchased in January 2012. We only had it a month or so and the freezer shut down and we lost all the food we had in it. Sears repairman came out and said the freezer had a bad control and would order a new one. He said there had been problems with the digital controls. It has worked great until today, August 2012, and it has gone out again. I have lost another freezer of food. We did purchase extended warranty but they only cover the loss of food once a year. They will not be here to check it out for a week and I'm not interested in another control. I'm afraid to trust this freezer with more food. Don't buy this freezer, it's terrible. I think digital anything is junk!
Having come from a smaller self-defrost freezer that I had for 20 years to this model, I noticed some distinct differences. There are several new features such as a light inside and an exterior temperature control and door ajar alarm. A concern I have is that it seems to run nearly all the time. I know this is due to the self defrost feature, but I'll be checking my electric bill to see if there is an increase.
this freezer is a replacement of an almost identical Kenmore Upright Freeze which we were extremely happy with.. this freezer is a more updated, It has a temperature control on out side, with a alarm should door be ajar/left open.. a bigger handle which is easier to use..
This freezer, while it does not have a shelf to freeze items fast, was able to freeze all items places it fast and solid. Unlike the freezer it replaces my ice cream in now nice and hard as well as all my meats. I like the freezer control on the outside of the door, no more moving items to set the temp.
Excited about not having to defrost this unit. Well worth the extra money to pay for this option. Perfect size for garage storage. I like the basket on the bottom for items that need to be crated.

The freezer seems to be working fine. All that was required of us was removal of tape, plastic bands, and installation of door handle. The washer was connected for us and all required was removal of protective tape. The dryer was another story. The door was backwards and could have been installed with correct opening prior to delivery. Also the dryer came with a range electric cord installed which would not fit the outlet. We had to reverse the door ourselves or wait for a tech to come and do it. We reversed it ourselves. We also had to deinstall the range electric cord and exchange at the Sears store and reinstall. This should have been done properly at the factory and checked prior to delivery.
We just had a chest freezer it just wasn't big enough and i could never tell what I had in it. So buy a up right freezer was the best thing to get. Now i know what i have.
