Purchased this unit for a rental property and was considering having Sears do the Install- (Wall installation) After reviewing the cost of the install I decided to do it my self- After some modification to the wall it fits perfects runs quite and my Tenant loves that it shuts off when desired temperatue is reached. Previous old unit kept running. This unit is very easy to operate and is energy efficient. Best decission I have made. Thank you Sears DBB

I needed a small unit (larger I thought) to cool/heat the area in which we spend 90% of our time., roughly 600 sq ft. I originally, wanted and expected just to get a cooling unit. After being "awakened" to the energy savings possible , in our situation, by the Sears rep, I did some research. I bought the unit. I've saved hundreds , if not thousands, especially on heat vs. electric central heat.....I highly recommend and am astounded in a informal survey of friends, how much more they pay than they need to, just because they use only what they have.

This consistently cools my place to mid-80's temperature in the 110 degree heat. I have mostly shade trees and a reflective metal roof which helps. My place is about 650 SF with open kitchen/living, separate bedroom, office/utility space and bathroom. I have low ceilings. The unit is mounted between kitchen/living and directly across from door to bedroom. If you have similar size but high ceilings and more than about 12-14 feet from opening into another room, this unit will be too small for hot temperature climates. Too large a unit will cycle off and not control humidity.

It's hard to comment with a rating on a unit that has been in use only 2 weeks. So far it's running well. With 90+ degrees outside, the Heat part cannot be tested yet. I had a Kenmore wall-unit bought at Sears 5 years ago, and the 5 year warranty had just expired. A house call was made to my 'studio hut' by a Sears rep. to see what was wrong with my Kenmore wall-unit. I was told it had a leak, and it would cost as much as a new unit to repair. $107.- to tell me that. He gave me a coupon with a discount to present to Sears when I'd buy a new unit. So, purchasing a new Kenmore A/C w/Heat from Sears, the same BTU as the old, I was told the coupon was No Good. It applied to appliances only... A/C units were not included! Well, what a come-on. On top of that, no Warranty, only defective material would be covered..... (Like how long from now..). I skipped the $200 + warranty part, bought the unit and had a carpenter install it. $$ The old unit had its own sleeve, but Sears/Kenmore had changed the height and width just a little on this very similar unit. The wall had to be cut open to fit the new unit for size. This is not what I'd expect from an old company like Sears. Next time I need anything..., I'll go to other stores that offer a warranty and less of a disappointment in the overall service.

This is not my first or last Kenmore Air Conditioner. This particular model is very quite and very efficient, not mention keeps 2 rooms cool and comfortable.

After visiting FOUR stores the day my air conditioner went down with outside heat index topping 110 degrees, I was more then stressed and desperate when I arrived at Sears. It was my last hope, turns out it SHOULD have been my first and will be in the future. The sales rep was sympathetic and kind. After a few minutes of finding out what I needed and helping me laugh a bit he presented me with a heeat/cool combo that will serve EXCELLANT this summer down stairs and will move to its perminent home in the bedroom upstairs come late fall. I am delighted with the unit and its ability to maintain the temp I set it on. One night we smelled the "1st time of the year" furnace smell in the room and realized the Air conditioneer was automatically adjusting the chilly night to match the 73 degrees I had selected. NO NEED to change it from cool to heat. It just knows! Also love the remote. Laughed when I first saw it, thinking wow how lazy..lol BUT have found myself using it many times to adjust teh unit if I get to warm while working harder then average and to heat once when I was feeling chilled from a slight flu! GO KENMORE... I am hooked. Well worth the proce in the end!

I always try to buy Sear products whenever possible. I have had several a/c units in the past, personally. This particular unit was purchased for a pre-school,so it is very important that it functions well. Once again sears and kenmore exceded all expectation. The unit was very simple to instal,it had all the hardware, and the dimensions were axactly what they were susposed to be, Once installed, it took no time to start cooling the area, which is rather large.I had concidered having to purchasing an additional unit to keep every one comfortable. I do not have to worry about that any more it cools it very quickly, and keeps it cool, no matter how many people are in the area or how many times the doors are open. The unit is probably by far the nicest unit i have ever bought, not to mention, it is a great looking a/c unit as well as being extremely quiet. There is no doubt in my mind what the next unit I buy will be
