Really like the compact size
Because the touchpad is black, it is difficult to read the numbers. We use it primarily for reheating food; but I must say that I have found that it does a fantastic job of baking potatoes in just a couple of minutes! The more I use it, the better I like it.

Only lasted 16 months
Stopped working today, only 16 months old. My last microwave lasted over 10 years. I didn't think I needed the expensive extended warranty for a microwave oven, of course it is out of warranty now. The Kenmore name used to mean quality, not anymore! Sears will probably remove this review but at least I tried to let people know that this microwave is not very good.

Malfunctioned Within ^ Months

Purchaced this microwave In November of 2013 and about 6 months later (May 2014) it started to malfunction. When I would cook on high 100% power it would automatically drop down to 80% power after about 1 minute which would totally screw up my cooking. Tried to call sears and exchange with no luck. They did not honor the warranty. This Is Not The Sears that I remember years ago.

Works, but could be more useful

The sensor cook isn't as wonderful as the literature made it out to be. The microwave is rather complex to the point that I usually just end up using the quick start with 1..5 minutes and add 30 seconds if I feel it necessary. All of the program options are a little over thought (and that from a LINUX user is not a good thing). I also really do not like the kitchen timer blocking the microwave function. When I am cooking a large meal, there are times I would like to use both the microwave and timer at the same time.

Microwave 1.2 Cu Ft Kenmore

Bought this as a replacement for a 2002 model that had bit the dust, newer model that has upgrades. So simple to use - 1 button push timing, more compact than our old one, just all in all a great countertop microwave. Hope we have as much luck with this one as we did our old one! A real deal at $99 and everything we need! Kenmore is our trusted brand!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Terrible product

We've had this microwave about a month now. It does not get the food hot, and it now smells like something (plastic) is burning when we use it. We have unplugged it and are reaching out to Sears for a replacement or refund.

Seems Very Good

Bought this to replace a 32 year old Amana RadarRange that was built like a tank, all steel. After going a few days without a microwave we were so desperate to get one that we bought an Emerson at a local store. It always made a loud electronic noise when it ran so we checked the warranty and discovered that you had to ship it to California at your own expense ($39 from Oregon) plus they wanted you to send them $15 to offset the return shipping. That would total $54 in shipping so I packed it up and returned it. The Kenmore can be taken to any local Sears service center so I decided to shop for a Kenmore. This microwave gives you more features than most brands have. I love that it has multistage cooking plus a memory that allows you to save 3 different cooking sequences to it. That means that instead of pressing 11 buttons to multistage cook my morning oatmeal I only have to press "Favorite" and "Start". The plastic lightweight door makes a loud bang when it closes, which is annoying, but many microwaves do. The door shows smears from people glumming on to it with their wet hands and like all new microwaves I've looked at the light bulb doesn't seem to be user replaceable as it is located inside the cabinet behind the touch pad. Also the four plastic feet didn't grip the countertop very well. One of them wasn't making contact at all and the oven rocked when I tried to open the door. I had to put some small squares of high grip shelf liner under the feet to fix the problem. The oven runs fairly quietly about the same as other ovens I've used. Overall, apart from some annoyances like the feet, I like it's many features and that it runs, performs, and cooks well. How reliable it will be remains a question that time will tell.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
