Awesome
Totally enclosed crawl space under home needed moisture reduction. Emptied water collector daily until I could attach a gravity hose by raising the unit above my access hatch.

Won't shut off
Just returned my 2d unit. The humidifier thinks that the humidity in my basement is 60%. Set the humidistat at 45%, and the dehumidifier kept running for 24 hours. The internal hygrometer never went below 60%, but 2 independent hygrometers read 37% and 40%. So, it was sucking up the moisture, but not shutting off, thinking it was still 60%. Just to test, set the humidistat for 65%, and it did shut off. Had 2 units with exactly the same problem. On a plus, it is quiet, seems solidly made and does dehumidify, but doesn't know when to stop.

Great Dehumidifier BUT

Did a good job all last summer. Never came on all winter as the humidity was low in the basement then. In the spring it came on and iced up so that the ice was built up through the rear filter and it would not shut off. Basement was 64 degrees. Sears repair said it was not economical to repair it and Sears offered a replacement. So it only lasted less than a year. Sears said it has been discontinued and replaced with model 54570. Will see how long that one lasts....

Typical

I bought this unit in July of 2013. Coils started to ice up in Fall of 2013. Some icing is normal in cooler temperatures but coils are now icing constantly in warmer temps. Unit does not seem to be removing humidity as well since this icing up started. Worked great for first 3 months. Disappointed and would not buy again.

Dehumidifier

The 70 pt model has taken a lot of moisture out of my basement. If you run it on the high level it will increase your electric bill quite a bit. Also, most of these dehumidifiers I have purchased only last about 2 years.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore 70-pt dehumidifier

works very well, dropped humidity from 85% to 45% in one day. using manual bucket to empty, not convenient for drain but don't think that would be a problem, also it sounds an alarm when bucket is full so you can empty and keep it running

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Noisy, but does a good job

It does a good job getting the moisture out of my basement. I also like that it does not run constantly...only when it the humidity levels go too high. It is noisy, though.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Very good machine & works quickly

First off, I have only been running about 3 days now in my basement, but when I fired it up the relative humidity was 90%. After 6 hours it had dropped the humidity to 60% and needed to be emptied. It may seem to be short timespan for the tank, but as I said there was a lot humidity and it also reduced the "musty" smell as quick. It isn't the quietest dehumidifier I've employed, but it's quickness makes up for it. Another benefit is the programmable gauge is another benefit. I set mine to maximum of 45%. It hasn't reached that yet so basically its running constantly, although it has taken it down to 50% & in this time of year where our outside humidity is 93% and we go in & out of the basement rear access quite a bit, I have faith when the outside humidity drops it will be able to finally cut off.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a GREAT dehumidifier!

It's quiet. It rolls. It takes a huge amount of moisture out of the air. And the bucket is so easy to remove, dump and replace. I have had absolutely no problems and I would highly recommend it!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
